I have driven trucks for almost 20 years, and I have never worked for a company as poorly mismanaged and as unfair to drivers as Buel, Inc.  This is NOT a company you should work for.  They will fire you (they call it "terminating your contract") without reason at any time. They will accuse you of not running enough (your truck is sitting too much) yet it is Buel, Inc. who dispatches the trucks, and as a consequence YOU owe THEM money.

You get your settlement every two weeks, and it isn't much....the highest check I ever received was $1000.00 (which breaks down to $500.00 a week) for my first two weeks of employment with them, and from there, the checks went south.  After that, my earnings ranged anywhere from $300.00 for two weeks of work to $700.00 for two weeks of work.  I lost our cell phone contract, my car and had to go on food stamps to feed my family because of the low wages I was paid.

You get two days off after a two week run for home time, yet day one of your home time is spent waiting at the terminal for your settlement.....and, be prepared to wait at least 7 to 8 hours for your pay, even if you get your paperwork in early in the morning.  Buel, Inc. will assign you runs that you do not have the hours to run, and if you try to refuse the load, you could have your contract terminated.  Once you are assigned a load, they expect you to get it there on time, whether you have the hours or not.

They say you are not responsible for paying the reefer fuel, yet they take it out of your settlement.  The trucks Buel, Inc. leases to you are in poor shape.  Buel, Inc. does very little in maintenance before you get the truck, and when something breaks down it is up to you to fix it.  I could continue, but I think I have given you enough to think about.  No, I'm not a former disgruntled employee....I am not saying these things to enact some sort of revenge.  I am saying these things to warn other potential drivers of what awaits you if you drive for Buel, Inc.

Is your problem, they have been designed to make you think you have power, and all you have is a broken down truck that you have to keep repairing. They take all of their resposibilties and put them on you.

If you can't afford a truck go drive a company truck until you can, of course even there you have to watch who you drive for, after 20 years you know this is an ugly ugly industry.
