Complaint Review: Bulldog Landscaping & Irrigation LLC.

In my 20 years of experience within the green industry I had the displeasure of working for one of the most unprofessional and unethical landscaping companies in the South Jersey area! BULLDOG LANDSCAPING!!!!

I was hired on to be the maintenance mgr. on April 6, 2007. My responsibilities included taking care of all the commercial properties as well as a handful of residential properties. I was hired on by the president and owner, Mr. David Ollivier. I first met Dave about 4 years ago and wasn't really all that impressed by him or his so called operation. He didn't have a NJ pesticide license then, and he still doesn't have one today. As a former lawn care technician and manager I advised him of the possible penalites for operating a business without one. He told me I sounded like his wife! lol.. She apparently has a little more common sense than him as well. He viewed me as a complainer, etc. and someone who didn't follow his orders. He views his employees as equipment and told another employee just that. Not only was that an employee, but it was the man who is in charge of sales and installation for his hardscaping division. I asked Dave if he said that and he said he didn't.. but others tell me differently.

First of all, you should treat people as you would want to be treated.

He gave me an offer letter that stated I would be receiving a company truck as part of the offer and that I would be getting that truck just as soon as it was fixed. lol.. This truck sat in the parking lot since last December when the engine blew. He told me as soon as I give him the okay of accepting the position that the truck would be in the shop and fixed asap. The truck sat for months.. and when I asked about the truck he said for me to have patience. I told him one reason I accepted the offer was because of the truck. Now I didnt live far from the office, but if its part of the offer I expect you to be a man of your word.

So..... I never did get the truck. Now the truck was to be used for work, not just to travel from my house to the office. I needed to have that truck so I could illegally put down fertilizers and such, because again he has no NJ. pesticide license to do so. I told him I didn't like the idea of putting myself at risk, but the risk really falls on the business. I asked him why put the truck in the offer letter if you weren't going to give me one? I was also let go because of me bringing up the truck issue from time to time. You offered it.... I accepted the offer! Don't put that in an offer letter if your not going to give me one! What a f***in' a*****e!

He also asked me to call a local nursery whom we have done business with to see if we could get some "phony receipts" to show a property mgr. if she questioned how much flowers we actually planted back in the spring. He told me, "since she is such a b***h, I dont feel bad about doing it." I reluctantly did call the nursery and the nursery actually did it for us. So in their records they should have 2 sets of receipts... one set is the actual, while the others are fakes.

His contracts are filled with services that are never even done. Weed control? How do you control weeds without any liquid tanks? How does this guy stay in business? His main business in pavers and hardscaping.. He just got into the commercial maintenance end of things and feels that doing things is way is the right way. It may not be the legal way.. but that is where we differ on opinions.

He hires illegal Mexicans.... who shouldn't even be in this country let alone driving his company trucks! Wait.. they shouldn't be working here either! This is a guy who is a former Marine... and in my mind and many others he is a disgrace to the green industry. He is a disgrace to everything the Marines stand for and I don't know how this guy sleeps at night.

He is a former police officer who believes that the laws in place only apply to other people and not to himself. I think of him as a thief really. When you contract out services for a fee and don't perform those services, your a crook. Just because you try and hide behind a business name doesn't mean your an upstanding citizen. It's like taking your car to a mechanic and getting billed out the a*s for things that were not necessary or were just inflated. We all know how we feel about maybe taking a car to a mechanic we don't know or trust. There are reasons why we think the way we do, because we know there are a lot of crooks out there in business ripping us all off daily!

I took my information to the police and they choose to do nothing about it. After I went in and shared all my evidence somehow they are looking the other way! He has to be exposed for the fraudulent individual that he is. Now because I didn't want to go along with his games, I am without a job. I am also going to talk to an attorney about a wrongful termination lawsuit against him and the company. Maybe you know who else I should contact? Maybe you have a friend who knows a great wrongful termination lawyer?

He also let me go on a Tuesday... screwing my payweek up for unemployment as well as not paying me for vacation pay that I earned. He told me when he let me go that it just wasn't working out and that he decided it was time to cut our ties. When I asked him am I being fired or laid off... he said you can take it any way you want too. I did nothing wrong to get fired, but I am not laid off... I am just let go. Okay... because I voiced my opinions on what we should do to be in compliance with the state, gov't, etc.. and the fact that I didn't feel that being unethical was par for the course I was let go?! So he can perpetuate fraud and keep ripping people off? Because I have some ethics and want to be fair to the people that I met on a daily basis? I believe in good honest business where you can develop relationships and keep their business over the long haul. That is how you sustain a company with growth! You have to keep the customers who are nice enough to give you the business, but apparently going for the quick buck seems a lot easier for some businesses these days.

I was out there representing his company and he was happy with me doing so, just as long as I didn't disagree with his unethical and unlawful ways.

Everything happens for a reason... Now I am considering going into business for myself and I will make a promise to be as professional and ethical as possible. It will be hard work, but I welcome the challenge. I usually don't like bashing competitors, but when it comes to this a*****e all I really have to do is be honest about Bulldog / Bullsh*t Landscaping.

So if you want my advice..... NEVER EVER THINK ABOUT USING BULLDOG LANDSCAPING!!!!! Which I refer to now as Bullsh*t Landscaping, because that is exactly what it is.... BULLSH*T!!!
