Complaint Review: BP Software

BPFTP is an FTP software client. To entice people to purchase, they used to offer product lifetime upgrades with a license purchase. However, they have now arbitrarily decided to stop allowing upgrades for existing users.

In a transparent attempt to evade it's obligation to allow existing users to upgrade for free, the latest release was branded "Bulletproof FTP Client 2009" instead of simply "Bulletproof FTP Client". The "new" version was obviously an incremental improvement to the previous version and also looked identical.

As an existing customer I am offered discount pricing. However, this is a clear violation of the previous upgrade agreement. Since there is no large corporation behind this product, I'm sure no lawyers are interested in a class action (no big payout). So I simply recommend to be wary if you are considering purchasing a license from these guys, as they've shown themselves to be untrustworthy.
