BOUY BULL TERRIERS OWNED BY JODY BONNEVILLE IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY..she DOES NOT give purchasers the registration papers for dogs purchased and she also knowingly breeds dogs carrying the recessive gene for zinc deficiency syndrome also known as Lethal Acrodermatitis

(LAD link: http://www.btca.com/Health/LAD.html) is a metabolic disorder, and breeding these animals is a violation of the code of ethics that are to be followed by members of The Bull Terrier Club of America, which Jody is a member of.
(code of ethics link: http://www.btca.com/Business/codethic.html)

Even if you see a dog that looks healthy and is the product of a carrier breeding, that pup has a 50% chance of being a carrier and you wont know until two recessive carriers are mated. Wow what a service to the breed! We purchased our first dog from Jody (Keats) that was in a litter of eight. Six were destroyed because they had zinc deficiency and were doomed. Our girl Keats has many health problems and will most likely have a shorter life span than normal. At the time we purchased Keats we were told that she only had conformation faults, and therefore would make a good pet, which is what we were looking for at the time. We have given Keats a good home and her life is based on quality not quantity and she does have excellent quality of life as a member of our family. Of course all of Keats health problems didnt come to light until after we made our second purchase from Jody

Jody asked me if I would like to purchase a white b***h from her so that my daughter could have a show dog/potential breeding prospect. I did so, for $1200, which was paid to her at the time I brought the b***h home (Airy). Jody said that Airys papers were in a safe deposit box and they would be mailed to me. Heres an interesting catch even though a buyer pays good money for the purchase of an animal the breeder stays on the papers as a co-owner which isnt explained at the time of sale. I have purchased many registered animals in my lifetime and when you buy the animal you have made an outright purchase and do not remain under the dictatorship of the seller. The reason for Jodys dictatorship is to capitalize on the efforts and financial investment of the new owner. By the way six months have gone by and as of today we still do not have Airys papers.

Jody does not keep her dogs in the environment that you would expect. When we purchased Airy she was absolutely filthy, her nails overgrown, her ears full of crud, and she was somewhat underweight. When I took her to my vet to have ALL her vaccinations updated, my vet asked me if she was a rescue dog (this was after two of many baths we gave her). The poor dog was also emotionally neglected and starving for human attention. Airy spent much of her life confined to a crate or outdoor run. Jody told me that she wanted a family for Airy, to have her bred, and showing was optional. Airy adjusted to her home life with us quickly and she is very happy here. She is a very important member of our family and she adores my daughter. Airy has a quality of life here that she NEVER had at Buoy. BUYER dont just BEWARE Dont shop at Buoy because you WILL regret doing so on many levels.

There are others out there who have been a victim of this unscrupulous breeder SPEAK out in a public forum! Your voice needs to be heard in order to prevent other unsuspecting purchasers from being ripped off. Of course there are those who will not like this being aired in a public forum so what? Should I care? Should you? Of course not because anyone who finds this offensive is probably guilty of similar misconduct and not worthy of being patronized. There are honest and ethical breeders out there, and they too need to be part of the solution in preventing the misconduct of a few.

As many breeders know, finding suitable mates for bitches we wish to breed, and whelping a healthy litter is often easier said than done.

If you have ever been involved in the breeding of a pure bred dog, you would soon realize that it is not always picture perfect. The b***h may have a hard time, need an emergency c-section or other complications could occur, not to mention the shock and disappointment and horror to find she has perhaps whelped deformed, sick or still born pups.

I met Ms. Bonneville many years ago, and I hardly think she would "knowingly" set herself up for such heartbreak and disaster, as well as put a valuable b***h at risk.

I am not sure who or what compelled you to make such misinformed, emotional, and unkind statements. You not only slandered Ms. Bonneville, you have cast suspicion on everyone who has worked with her breeding program.

I don't understand why you purchased two dogs from this breeder if you were not happy with the conditions of the kennel.

Why did you accept a dirty dog? Why didn't you insist on her being cleaned up and checked out by a vet before you paid. Same with the papers-why didn't you refuse to pay and take ownership of the dog until the registration papers were in hand??
Did you have a contract? Did you read it before you signed it and ask questions? If you didn't like the terms you could have refused. Those contracts are pretty standard in the BT world.

Also, the charges you leveled were pretty serious.
How do you know that she's breeding dogs who carry LAD? What proof do you have, other than she did have one litter with Zinkers? Unfortunately it does happen once in a while, since there's no test for LAD.

Since you've leveled these charges, you realize that no respectable, ethical breeder will come near your b***h for two reasons.

One, you've stated bluntly that the Buoy line is 'tainted' with the LAD gene.

Secondly, given the bitter, vengeful tone of this letter, I don't believe any breeder would want to risk their kennels reputation-should you not get a desired outcome, and do to them what you've done to this breeder.
