Burger King ripoff unprofessional conduct of staff and complete disrespect Americus Georgia

This incident happend on Friday, November 5 around 11:30pm.

To at the beginning, about 7 teenagers and 2 parents and myself went to Burger King to eat after a football game. We all ordered and went to sit down. One of the adults wanted to know were the "smoking" section was.

I went to the counter and asked an employee who just leaned toward me, never said he didn't hear me, just leaned forward and waited for me to ask again. After I repeated myself again, he stated simply "over there", I then said "Back in the very back?" and he nodded, no "yes mam" no direction what so ever. Very Rude I thought.

Second, we go sit in the back there are no ashtrays so the we approached the counter again and asked for one and the employee just stared around like he didn't know what an ash tray even was. We eventually used a cup lid. UNPROFESSIONAL again.

Finally to top things off, this is were it gets real good, we finished up and left the building. The kids stood in the parking lot saying good bye and so forth for a few minutes. Out of nowhere, 3 employees come outside yelling, or maybe screaming, at the kids to get back in a clean up there mess. As I turned around I realized there was actually 5 employees all together both inside and out to "watch the scene take place".

The way the employees were acting, I expected a hell of a mess, such as: food left on the table, no trash taken to the trash can, drinks and napkins left behind. Therefore, I walked back in the restaurant to see there "mess" which consisted of a few stray napkins, 2-3 stray straw rappers and two chairs left out of place. (the kids were in a booth and two had taken chairs to sit out to the side)

These kids were intentionally intimidated into coming back into this fast food place to do a job that these employees are paid to do. Cleaning up the dining area is their job, they are supposed to sweep up stray paper products, replace chairs and wipe down tables. Their unprofessional behavior in calling the kids back in was overly dramatic and ridiculas.

Bottom line is, it was a bunch of teens and the employees did not want to waste their precious chit chat time to do their job in cleaning up!

Now, I am apologizing for the fact that these kids spent around $50+ to order food, sat down and were not at all lound or obnoxious, and then came in and cleaned up after being intimidated by the employees and didn't so much as get a Thank-you!

What I would like is for an apology to these kids from the Friday Night Shift Manager, the Americus Store Manager and the District Manager for the unprofessional behavior and slackness of these employees. 5 "grown" people coming out into a parking lot yelling at these kids was rediculous. In fact I believe that in the State Court of Sumter County it would be called affray and is a good way to start a fight, but these kids are better than that.

So as of Monday morning I will be contacting these managers and reporting my claim. If I do not receive a letter of apology from these people, I will report it to the papers and then go from there. This unprofessionalism HAS TO STOP.

By the way, this is not the first time this Burger King staff has been rude and unprofessional. Get your act together.

I won't go into a Burger King over this same thing. Their dining rooms are dirty and their employees are rude. I'm sure there are a few well run BKs out there, but it's been a long time since I've seen one.

When I went there in the past they got the order wrong more often than they got it right, and after a while it's just not worth the trouble. So now when I'm in the mood for high calorie-low nutrition pseudo-food, I exercise my right as a consumer to take my money somewhere else.

BTW I don't blame the employees. This is just bad management and training. You might think that it's isolated to a few stores in a few areas, but I've seen it in BKs all over the country. It's no wonder they're going broke.

If I dont get an apology to this idiotic complaint from the poster, the attorney general, the president, the united nations, and NORAD as well as NASA, then I am writing to the papers, telling 30 people i know, never going to georgia, and calling off Christmas.

Raise your kids better

Yes they are paid to clean up the store, but not the messes your bratty little kids made. You should have raised them better, and I doubt the employees would have told them to clean it up if the mess consisted of a few straw wrappers and misturned chairs.

As for the smoking section, I've yet to see a Burger King with a smoking section. They probably wanted you to go outside. If the dining area was square-shaped, then it was all one room and you should not have been smoking inside.

Get off your high horse once in a while, chances are some of the employees are smarter than you.
