We brought our 1996 Chrysler to this crook for a transmission repair in August , 2004 . We were told by the manager , JR. Rolfe that these transmissions are only good for 100 K miles and he quoted us a price of $1200 - $1900 depending on whether he had to replace it with a new or rebuilt unit .After a month of waiting for our phone calls to be returned , we finally got our car back with a junkyard transmission with 90K miles on it .We paid over $1400 and it lasted less than 2 weeks . We brought the car back to Butch's Amoco/BP and for the next 2 months we had no idea where the car was or who was working on it . JR refused to return our calls and left us on hold while he ran other errands .

We finally found out through other channels that the car had 3 transmissions put in it and was somewhere in Des Moines . Apparently ,Butch's credit in Ames was so bad that no one wanted their business and it had to be farmed out to an anonymous junkyard .After contacting the junkyard , we found out that there was an arguement over who was responsible for replacing the 3rd transmission . Great ! By this time , we had been without our car for over 2 months . JR never called us or let us know what the status was on our car even after all that . Left with no choice , we finally filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office of Consumer Fraud .It is now 3 1/2 months since we put our car in for repair with these crooks .We have been without our car since Summer ! We had to buy another car just to get around !
