Complaint Review: Butler Rose & Jameson Associates

This scam appears to be generated by the popular Publisher's Clearing House mailings and is only one of the many I have received from other so-called "Report Sponsors," all of which ask about $20 in purposefully very obtuse language to mail back a report with the names of those in the running to claim the million dollar prize.  Since I have not participated in any other raffle and/or prize offers, I am sure my name and address were generated from the Publisher's Clearing House mailings.  These scams make it appear that, for the $20 you are entitled to receive thousands and/or millions of dollars in the front face of the mailing; however, there is a disclaimer in the back of the page basically explaining in confusing language that all you are getting is a report.  I have not sent any funds and have thrown away the mailings; however, I decided to look up the name given of Butler, Rose, & Jameson Associates, which at first glance appears as that of an attorneys' firm, and I found the Rip-Off Report site.  A dead give-away was the mailing address which only offered a Processing Department and what appears to be a mail-box site at 176-25 Union Tpke, PMB 330, Fresh Meadows NY 11366. These scams are directed at elderly individuals and those who are not very sophisticated and will believe their official looking "win certificates"!  I hope everyone who receives these "win certificates" searches the names of the organization that mail them and do not send $20 to these highly-sophisticated scammers!
