My husband and I used to live in Nj. We moved to Pa. 3 years ago. My husband, Robert, allways purchased local NJ/NY dj's mix and blend tapes. He ran an aol search on mix tapes and came across the website buymixtapes.com. He thought it was a good deal because you can download the songs and or dj cds onto the computer for $12.99 per month unlimited. He was Thinking he could just download the music to a cd so he can play it on his stereo and to save room on the computer.

After completing the registration process and paying for the services, he tried it out. He could not download the music onto the cd. It turns out you need to put in your password everytime you want to listen to the music you all ready downloaded. And since the stereo isn't a computer, you can't put your password into the stereo to play the cd. On Buymixtapes.com, it says you can download music onto your computer, but it doesn't say YOU CAN ONLY DOWNLOAD MUSIC TO YOUR COMPUTER. Robert and I tried contacting the company through their webpage, which is the only way to contact them on their webpage form, but no one seems to answer.

If they responded and used good quailty customer service, they could have made a bundle off us. Robert has over 300 mix tapes. Imagine each cost $10. At first glance at your webpage, Robert would have purchased over $200 worth of mix tapes. You, buymixtapes, lost a good customer.

The site is not a scam, it never was a scam. The reason IP address logging was used before is because people were sharing login information and posting it on forums for everyone to use. The IP address logging feature is no longer used and was diabled in Oct 2005 because of too many problems. You can login from any computer. You had signed up 3 times in one month (probably because of your IP address not matching the one on file), that is why you were billed more than once a month. Since IP address logging has been disabled, everything is running smoothly, customers are happy, and we have not had any issues of customers not being able to login. All e-mails are answered within 12 hours, tpyically within 1 hour.

It is a federal crime to sell copywritten music.
They have over 500 so called mixtapes. And alot of these djs on there site do not have permission to distibute the artist music so add that up. Looks like pen time to me. I just got of the phone with Aj at the riaa. The only legal mixtapes to distribute if freestyles and tapes like dipset who are meant to be used to distribute for promotion. There alot of music they got on there that can get them put away for a while. They do not have permission to sell music. No Lisence at all. Just Report them also to the riaa and ask for AJ. they will Take Your number and he will call you back. www.riaa.com They say why get a lawyer its only 12.99 yeah but when u add it up on every one you ripped off its a federal crime. well it took me a year to find this site to complain ot it and there only a handfull on this site all saying the smae thing.. i can believe u made thousands of this little scam you did.

Well I have had the same thing happen to me on 2 credit cards had to canceal them both. The credit card companies both told me the same thing.. i have to contact the buymixtapes to canceal and it like they wouldnt belive me that buymixtapes will not respond so i lost lost 2 of my credit cards with over $100 in charges. There a scam
No customer service. I got some info on them tho

The site could be a great site if they just handled good buisnees but thats not the case of course.

I know for a fact they get ther tapes from Raphustle.com go there and get your music free like they do then they bootleg them.

The reason I know this info is i own a mixtape site thast been doing downloads for over a year and i before i did this i was a member till i got ripped. Im glad i found this site becouse im down to file on this company for the simple fact there a ripoff.

You are right about it being a small amount(12.99).
You are wrong about it being only that(considering i was had overages approximating 140 USD) In regards to the credit card remitting funds, what i said initially was the truth and anybody liking to see documentation could easily request it from me.

You are right about easily cancelling credit card.
You are wrong about it being a simple solution because, in my situation, charges that are billed to old credit card will be transferred to my other linked accounts

Hey Mike...I wanted nothing but what i was paying for...Ive had enough of typing on this board and this could have been easily resolved simply by replying to my requests for resolving the issue. You must understand that nobody wants to sue anyone but rather resolve the issue. I personally thought very highly of your site...until the problems arose with no reply.

Simply said, I would still be a member and passing your site onto friends if the overages were refunded and my account actually worked...but rather what ended up happening was that I got no response from you and furthermore was still being charged multiple times a month.
Im sorry that you had all these problems with people abusing usernames and passwords but you should try to understand where us legitmate complainees are coming from..try to hear what were saying

By the way, the reason why I said my husband would have purchased over $200 worth of mix tapes, is because he collect them. Talk about an Einstein! Didn't you get it when I said he has over 300 of them??? Hello!!!

I have downloaded music from Napster, Winmix, and Kazza, and had no problem. So politely, can you tell me why I couldn't down load from yours?

And for your posting Novel- why did you bring up AOL? People can sue companies for more money than you think. How about the lady that spilled coffee on herself and sued Mcdonald's? She got a pretty penny, didn't she- and over a 73 cent cup of coffee?

First off, everyone or just the few people, or maybe it's the same person that is going to file a lawsuit, do you know how ridiculous you sound? A lawsuit for $12.99 a month? Is it that hard to dipute the charges? We are the ones that get charged for each person that diputes the charges and are losing out. $25 each chargeback plus the $12.99 So do you acutaully think we are trying to scam people? We have been around for 2 1/2 years, we do our best to maintain the site and keep people happy with new mixtapes. We had to enforce the IP address logging because 500-1000 people were gaining free access to the site and slowing it down for customers. Most of the time, the reason for being charged twice a month is because people will sign up twice in a row. Also, not everyone tells the truth about their "horrible experince" such as rikki, we went through and refunded all your charges, your credit card company did not do that as you had stated. If we are such a bad company and a scam then why not turn off that card, would you not do that if you thought someone was scamming you? More than likely, it's probably the same few people on this site making up stories, why would people write novels about a site that is $12.99 a month. It's hard enough to go through and make sure people aren't signing up more than once a month, but then you come here and people act like it's hell to be on buymixtapes.com Well the few people that come here to b***h and complain about us being unprofessional. We are not going to kiss your a** for things that can easily be resolved. You people are ridiculos to write so much about such an easy task to fix, get real, maybe it's because our site is actually worth a whole lot more than what people state on this site. Everyone claims to know what is going on and that we are stupid as hell. Who would waste their time getting a lawyer for a service of $12.99 a month. How about AOL, how many people hate AOL, but do they threaten with lawyers to get a small service charge removed. Usually the "smart" person would discontinue the card if it's such a hassle. We are not a scam and are not trying to rip people off. People are so smart, did you not read before submitting your "complaint", do not use capital letters, but then again everyone on this site knows exactly what they are talking about and that we are all wrong. How about the complaint of not being able to download to CD and that we are a rip off because you can only download to your computer. The customer then stated that they know what is going on and has been using computers for years. Then the customer states we would make $200+ from them for the mixtapes being $10 each. We only charge one fee of $12.99 a month to maintain the site and customers like we have on this site. What she actually meant to say was they would make a bundle charging $10 per CD where they live. As we said before, there are a bunch of einsteins on here posting novels.

Hey guys, listen to this one, i have just recieved an e-mail from buymixtapes. Well, lets call it a forward or whatever with other member e-mails saying that our membership will be cancelled in 14 days. Awwwwww, does this mean no more downloading??? :( Nooooo! i wanna NOT be able too sign in again, cause my I.P address doesn't match. But i know how too get that address I.P address i used too sign up with back. hi,...i had the same problem with the poor excuse of a legitimate company called buymixtapes.com(as you can see above) I tried to get in touch w the owner multiple times and the few time he replied to this board was extremely immature and unprofessional. For the sake of remittance of funds, your best bet is to get in touch w credit card company's security dept. Theyll do their own research too and what would help would be to add a link to this site to the correspondance number they give you. This was the only solution for me and they credited me 11 charges of 12.99 which buymixtapes had overcharged.
In regards to lawsuits your almost guaranteed a win in my opinion simply for the sake of violating ecommerce laws and abusing credit card information(federal law). Not to mention if enough people notify their c.card companies they'll probably pursue their own litigation

hi,...i had the same problem with the poor excuse of a legitimate company called buymixtapes.com(as you can see above) I tried to get in touch w the owner multiple times and the few time he replied to this board was extremely immature and unprofessional. For the sake of remittance of funds, your best bet is to get in touch w credit card company's security dept. Theyll do their own research too and what would help would be to add a link to this site to the correspondance number they give you. This was the only solution for me and they credited me 11 charges of 12.99 which buymixtapes had overcharged.
In regards to lawsuits your almost guaranteed a win in my opinion simply for the sake of violating ecommerce laws and abusing credit card information(federal law). Not to mention if enough people notify their c.card companies they'll probably pursue their own litigation

I spoke to Verisign. They informed me that they don't handle cancelations or any mischarges associated with you guys. All they do is encrypt the credit card info.

So please try again. Really you guys got real sloppy. I've been a customer for a while now and everything was good up until this point.

You guys got real sloppy, you were better off just mailing the CD's out like you did in the past. You tried to take a short cut by making the CD's download-able...and now its back firing.

I know you are probably frustrated with us but it would be wise to calm down since there are a few of us... besides I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want the MixTape DJ's to hear about the way you guys have your website set up.... basically giving there music away for free.

You tell us to Cancel our Accounts, but where are our refunds? If we haven't used your product, we are entitled to a refund. I've been a member with BuyMixTapes.com for a few months. Over the past week they've been out of control, billing my credit card twice not responding to any of my emails. I've even found their number but of course no answer.

Here are my issues in detail:

1. I was forced to sign up a second time. Reason being that they changed their billing system. I had an account with them previous to this error so I shouldn't have had to go through this process. But I did.

2. I sign up again now you have to put in your IP Address along with a new name and password. Now I have a BS in Computer Management Information Systems I figured that they would take it into account lets say for DSL users.. the IP Address does change when you log on to DSL again (A dynamic IP address). But of course they didn't what was I thinking. So I am still locked out of the website with member charges on my credit card account.

3. And last I NEVER GET A RESPONSE TO ANY EAMILS!!!!

In turn I had to contact my bank to have the charges removed and any in coming charges blocked.

PLEASE DON'T BE FOOLED BY BUYMIXTAPES.COM

Here are some steps you can take in filing some complaint as well:

Go to networksolutions.com click on whois and search for BuyMixTapes.com. That will give you a lot of info about who you are dealing with (phone number, ect).

You won't be able to get in contact with their host because they have their on servers. Which is a smart move for a scam.

But you can contact the company they have their name registered with GKG.net. File a complaint like I've done.

Lets put this to an end!!!

Ummm....If this company is so good, then why do you not respond to the emails customers send? That's not good customer service! My husband and I tried to cancel our accout through SEVERAL emails and asked for a refund and for someone to contact us, and no one responded. We have tried contacting you through your website and to no avail. Another thing, why are you looking up your company on this website if your comapny is so great?

You have no telephone number or address listed on your website for contact info.
It is not listed on your website that "you cannot download or burn to cd" any music through your website. That should be stated on your website.
You have no refund policy.

You do not respond to customers complaints or requests that email you through your website.
AND YOU EXPECT ME TO BELEIVE THIS COMPANY ISN'T A SCAM.

I told my husband before he even thought about signing up to your website to think twice and research it. I guess he didn't. So, are you going to refund him? He only used the account once or twice to see if he can burn the music onto cds, and he couldn't. Let's all see how wonderful your company really is!

Our website is not a ripoff. You should learn more about how to operate a computer, maybe try taking computer classes. You save the file (tracks) to your computer. After getting all of the files (tracks) for one mixtape, load a program that will burn CDs. Almost all computers today come with a CD Burner. You must have a Program/Application on your computer that can burn CDs. Once the program is loaded, read the instructions on how to make an audio CD. It's not very hard, the learning process on "HOW TO MAKE AN AUDIO CD" is very quick and easy.

well the reason why it asks for your password so much is because its password protected and really made for members only. buymixtapes.com will not provide a cd burner program. you need to have your own.our best customer to this website is a kid named ryan.been using the porgram and been a member for 2 yrs.
