I was contacted on May 17, 2005 by a telemarketer from "Buyer's Union," also known as "Premiere Movie Pass." They had been calling for several days early in the morning, but I decided to answer the phone that day. I was greeted by a man by the name of Eddie Lawson who had an Indian accent and was difficult to understand. I was told that I would be receiving a $200 gift card to the store of my choice (from a list of stores) and a few free DVD's as well, all for a low price of $3.95. I was told that if I did not call to cancel within 7 days, not only would the $3.95 charge be withdrawn from my bank account, another charge of $119.95 would be withdrawn as part of their membership fees. I said "sure" cause it sounded like a good deal and I knew I would call and cancel.

Correct me if I am wrong, but 7 days from May 17th would be May 24th. I called on May 20th because I had a bad feeling about the whole situation. I cancelled everything I had signed up for with the company. The woman on the phone assured me that no charges would be withdrawn from my bank account and I would not be billed. I had checked my bank via their website as I do everyday and everything was fine.

On the morning of May 21st, I checked my bank account online again and BAM! My balance was $5.40. I was thinking, "WHAT THE HELL?" I have the option ov viewing cleared checks on the internet so I selected all of the bogus checks: 2 were charges made by Premiere Movie Pass for $3.95 and one charge was made by Buyer's Union for $119.95. All 3 of these charges were made AFTER I had called to cancel and was told they would not be made.

Feeling very frustrated, I called the Buyer's Union or whatever immediately and they told me that I could have my money back but I would have to fill out a Refund Form that would come in the mail in about 14 business days. On top of that, I was told that I would only be credited the $119.95, not the two charges of $3.95. I know that's only 7 dollars but money is money and I am pissed. This is a deceitful, outright LYING company that needs to be stopped! NEVER BUY INTO THIS SCAM!
