I bought a 1 ton 2008 Ford F-350 Super Duty chassis pickup truck from Larry Stigers Equipment, Trailers, and Trucks, site unseen.  Stigers offered me an unlimited warranty from CARS specifically for dual wheel pick up trucks. I called and verified with CARS the states they work in, procedures for claims, etc.  I went ahead with the purchase of the truck and warranty from Larry Stigers. The truck was picked up.

The truck was shipped to our office where it was taken to have a utility body installed on it.  During that time, we received a letter from CARS stating the warranty was not accepted because it was (written in red ink) it was a twin turbo. Calls to Larry Stiger and CARS were positive and the warrany was authorized.

After receiving the truck from the body shop, with less than 30 miles driven, we noticed a lack of power. We took it to a local Ford dealership who contacted CARS after running diagnostic tests.

An adjuster came and looked at the truck, sent the claim to CARS. I called CARS asking what the status was.  Several days later the dealership called and said the claim had been denied.  I called CARS and spoke with a supervisor and was told because we installed a utility body on the chassis, we altered the vehicle and voided the warranty.

I received a letter from the dealsership stating the utility body no way altered the vehicle and caused engine problems.  I forwarded this and emails to CARS with no reply, just email delivery confirmation receipts.

We received a letter from CARS asking for a waiver of confidentiality and hold harmless from themselves and Stiger Equipment, Trailers and Trucks.

I called Stigers Trucks to explain my legal options and hoping they would do the rigt thing and call CARS and make them honor the warranty.  I was cussed out and hung up on repeatedly.  In my experience, they are rude, unprofessional and bullying.

Has anyone had these problems?  Is this a racket?
