I went to work for C Bean Transport in January of 2009, and didn't experience the problems others have complained about. I was in the flatbed division, which was fairly autonymous from the van division located in Ft Smith. I worked out of the Amity office. On March 9th of 2010, I was informed C Bean was bankrupt and going out of business. My dispatcher called me and told me to fuel up, because they were shutting off ComData. I fueled, finished my run, cleaned out the truck and turned it into the company teminal in Amity on March 10th. I was given a clean receipt for the truck and equipment, a letter to take to the Employment office stating C Bean had ceased operations and was "laying off" all their employees, and the assurance that I would be paid in full on Friday, March 12th.

I am still waiting to be paid. Anything, let alone in full. They owe me for 2 weeks of driving, which is a little over $1700 dollars, and also a weeks vacation pay that I had coming. Phone calls to the office go unanswered, and a drive over there found an empty and locked building. They just kept the money and locked the doors.

The kicker? James Fisher, CFO of C. Bean Transport, decided in 2008 that he wasn't paying money into the Unemployment Insurance fund any more. Every week C Bean was dutifully taxing my paychecks, but they were NOT disbursing it the way the law requires. They kept the money.

And the Employment Office in the State of Arkansas has no record of my employment on file, and denied me benefits. The woman there said it will probably take weeks to straighten out, maybe more, and in the meantime I don't qualify for any assistence.

No final Pay. No vacation pay. No one at the C Bean office to assist the hundreds of drivers they've abandoned, and no one in the government in the State of Arkansas who gives a d**n. As the father of a family of five and the sole support for my family, I really didn't need this.
