C&F Finance Company This Company didnot inform me prior to my purchase that they donot except partial payment even when the payment was greater than 1/2 the amount due. Richmond Virginia
I feel this company was misleading in its intentions. Due to my daughter's illness I made a payment or 359.53, which was 100.00 short of the entire payment. A representative who was not very kind called to tell me that they do not except partial payments under no circumstance. Since that time I have received numerous harassing phone calls. 5 days before the next payment was due I received a phone call tell me that I was a month behind and was now 2months behind.
I feel this is unacceptable behavior. I could certainly understand it I was an entire month behind. What you will find is that not only did I mail my current month due but the 100.00 additional owed.
After this experience I will certainly research my companies before signing. I have bought several cars and I have never been this harassed by a company.

Flynrider, you agreed with Robert in error. Just to let you know although it was not the point of the complaint; I did take care of the payment including late payment. I am a responsible adult, hmmm its't that a miracle.

Robert, you obviously missed the fact that the reason I sent a partial payment was due to my daughter's illness, and I sent that so that the company didnot think I was trying to ignore my responsibilities. Perhaps in the future when you respond, understand the cirumstances before you make remarks about it. It would be nice to perfect like you and this loan company. I did not nor will I disregard the fact that I owe the loan, that was not the point. If it were not for extenuating circumstances I would not have been late. Maybe we all need to understand including you that life is just that, life, and we are all not perfect, imagine that!

Robert is correct. You should have no reason to expect a lender to accept a partial payment. If you don't pay the contracted amount on the date due, you are late.
Even though you paid the outstanding $100 with the next months payment, you should contact the lender. You are very likely behind right now since they probably assesed late fees and interest for the month that you sent in the partial payment. If you don't take care of this, you could be considered late every month until the fees and interest are paid. Put away your indignation and take care of this before it s****.>

Just why should a company inform you prior to purchase that they only accept full payments, although it should be in the agreement. After all you are borrowing money from them, so why would they not expect you to pay anything but the full amount due each and every month?
Also, you say that it was 5 days before your next payment was due, but you feel that they shouldn't call you because you were not an "entire" month behind...Ummm
Hopefully when you sent in the next month's payment and the $100, you also sent the late fee that was most likely assessed. If not you will could still be considered late.
By the way late fees for less than full payments is normal for every car loan out there, so this lender does not seem any different.
