Complaint Review: C.F Sauer Company

I was injured on the job while working at CF Sauer for a temp service named Work Smart. I sustained a serious neck, back and head injury due to boxes falling from an overhead conveyor from which the side guards had been removed. When I came to the first thing that was said to me by several different employees is that the boxes had been falling off like that for twenty years.

I recently saw a current employee who said OSHA never set foot in the door and the conveyors have not been changed to prevent this. I was dismissed shortly after the accident as I could no longer perfom well in my position. I spent the following four months out of work with no income. I lost my home, cars,and my savings. The accident occured on August 13, 2003. To this date I have not had any substantial assistance or treatment from either company.

Their workmans comp doctor, Dr. Shallcross in Greenville South Carolina said I was faking on the first visit, in need of serious medical attention on the second visit and on the third visit said, and I quote, " You should consider yourself lucky to have such an opertunity to change careers". To what career I don't know. CF Sauer is an unsafe company that does not care about injuring an employee. To this day I have not had one call from Work Smart or CF Sauer since the day I was dismissed.
