I lived in C&H Duplexes for 4 years total. I have been treated like a child, they have come into my unit unannouced, and never fixed anything that has been broken. I have been told the only reason why Mr. Colvin keeps these units because they are easy money from the government. He lies about how he feels about his people that rents from him. The whole time my family lived there I have never met Mr. Colvin. I have been dealing with a mangement that comes to the unit with his fly unzipped, high as a kite and very nosy. He feels that he can tell you how to live but not how he can fix anything. 

Now, that I am moved out. I am homeless, which Mr. colvin has made it his mission to be sure my family and I stay that way. I work for the school district and have housing. No one will rent to me because Mr. colvin has repeatly lied said I owe $4,500. And he told Fair Housing I owe $4,000. When Fair Housing did my paperwork, we found out he owed $2,500. 

So, my family and I are currently living homeless, and I start work soon. Someone please help me to get this landlord off my back.

I am sorry to hear of your strong distaste towards C&H Duplexes LLC. I do in fact know who you are and which units you rented from us. I say units because after an incident that occured between you and a neighbor, C&H helped you and placed you in a new unit so you did not have to be around that neighbor any longer as you were uncomfortable, because we take care of our Tenants the best that we can. I found this complaint and I figured it was necassary to respond as this is public for anyone to view and that your opinion, while you are entitled to it, is just an opinion. 

If anyone was to look at any factual evidence of your destruction of the unit and constant late payments it would be safe to say that you are just another person trying to be a victim in a situation that you single handedly created. You were late countless times when housing was not paying for all of your rent. Even upon your intent to vacate, we gave you extra time twice so that you would be able to get your items out and have time to ensure the home was handed over to C&H Duplexes clean and ready to rent so you could attempt to recieve your full security deposit back. But you didn't. Even after the multiple time extensions we still walked into that unit with garbage, debris and literal feces on the floor. The whole unit was destroyed with holes, filth, broken blinds/doors, and cat urine. All written on a walk-through of which you signed off on. You had recently had a dryer fire (due to not cleaning your filter), and the firefighters had to hose down the laundry room as well as a spot on the hallway carpet. Upon the final walk-through, that area on the carpet was STILL soaking wet, not damp, soaking. This walk-through was a whole week AFTER the fire had happened. Just another example of the way you took care of someone else's property.

So you can go online and complain all you would like to whoever will listen but the truth is you were not a good Tenant to us and destroyed a home that was not yours and C&H will NOT give out any type of "good" rental reference to another landlord so you can do the same thing to them. It is unfortunate that you and your children were not able to find a place at the time this was written, and we do hope you finallly found someone willing to give you a chance and that you in turn treat their property better than you did C&H's.

We still have upwards of 60+ properties, with many happy long-term tenants. Everyone always has their own view and things to be disgruntled about, but don't go around bashing a great company that did nothing but help you and in return you destroyed their property.

Side note,C&H won in court for the amount owed because even the judge could see that all facts showed the Tenant was responsible for every penny spent on the labor/materials etc. The state actually ended up paying for your damages as you couldn't be responsible to take care of your mess. You are an adult with children please learn to own up to your own mistakes and take care of business. 

I have attached photos so anyone who does come across can form their own opinion on whether or not they agree with the previous Tenant or not.
