A young girl/woman (Vanessa Sanchez according to the receipt) came door to door on 17 July 2007 saying that she was in a contest to win a trip with her organization. She was selling magazine subscriptions. I ended up ordering one for a total of $42. My checking account was debited for the amount on 19 July 2007. It is now December and I have not received a single issue. I still have the receipt. I called the number on the receipt...it was disconnected. I then looked at my checking account statement, which had a phone number included as part of the name. I called that number, which was very similar to the original number. It was a radiology department in Alabama. I confirmed this by googling the number. I then contacted my bank to see if I could get my money back in any way. Since it has been more than 60 days since the transaction they cannot do anything unless I file a police report. I am seriously thinking of doing that as well. I filed a report with the Better Business Bureau online. But with the company's record according to them (unsatisfactory), I don't think it will be very helpful. According to the BBB, Howard Brock is the manager. It's ridiculous that people can actually get away with this.

Well, I took his response seriously and contacted him via email. He replied at told me:

"Sure please call 256-882-2116. Talk to Traci. Leave a message for her if she does not answer the phone. she will return your call. Reference that you have talked to me. She will add you to our list. We are dilligently sending out refunds everyday. It will take some time to provide all the refunds but we will do so."

I did this and left my name, address, and amount owed with "Traci". She said they would be sending it out in "2 to 3 days". Well, it's over a month later and I haven't received anything. I think this is just a way to pacify those who have complained online...to look like he is really trying to right the wrong. He is still doing business as Southern Circulation.

Spread the word...don't buy magazines from anyone you don't know!

C&S WENT OUT OF BUSINESS AND WAS UNABLE TO FUFILL ALL OF ITS ORDERS. i WAS IN A PARTNERSHIP WITH SOMEONE WHO BASICALY DESTROYED THE COMPANY. I BELIEVE I HAVE RECOVERED FIANALLY FROM TE NIGHTMARE. PLEASE EMAIL ME AT HOBRO11@YAHOO.COM AND I WILL SEND YOU A FULL REFUND.
