I to have have been on the other end of the C1 nightmare. My story is the same as the others went to school, which was a nightmare in feb on top of "cussing gus" a teacher who had it in for me, I manage to pass and signed on with PAM. My pam coach was great. I really enjoyed driving with him and then I was on my own.
I fell ill about six months into driving and had to be off for about three weeks. When I was finally released I called PAM back and I got a run around about when I was to start back. Finally the called and said i was no longer worked for them so I contacted C1.
You would think with a perfect driving record and clean history at PAM that they shouldnt have a problem getting me a job, but the told me noboby would hire me and that I would owe them the full amount $4995. Neddless to say after being a new OTR driver it was next to impossible to find a job let alone pay all that money back.
I finally landed a trucking job but no thanks to C1. After that I ended up in this factory were I am still employed and DO NOT need my CDL. The letters(bills) keep coming from along with the not so I nice phone calls to me and everyone else in my family. I attempted once to make payments to them but the did not count any of the money I had already payed them so I stopped that. I have since ran into a few differnet drivers who shared a simliar story(nightmare) about C1. I once payed 500 to a company to deal with them but nothing was able to be resolved through them. They(C1) are a rip and this is my waring to all BEWARE. STAY AWAY unless you like your credit ruined, nasty phone calls and one large bill.

My boyfriend was with driver solution in sept. 2006 in indianapolis, he was only there for about 2 weeks. He was out driving one day with the trainer and got pulled over by the police. He was then kicked out of the school, and told he would have an opportunity to return once the ticket matter was settled. So he came home to PA, called about his ticket....no record of it, so he was told to call back at a later date. about 2-3 months later, he calls once again..no record of the ticket, or the officer that pulled him over. By that time he already had a job,and we werent able to afford to send him back out if the school would of accepted him. To this day, nothing has come in the mail regarding that ticket. Now the school is threatening wage garnishment, freezing assets, and possilbe warrant for arrest if he does not appear in court. I honestly dont think we should have to pay anything to the school. I have called driver solutions and demanded to speak to the president, of course they were hesitant and claimed he was out and wouldnt be in till next week. Legal department is a joke. Not willing to work with me at all. They want $200 a month that we dont have.

first, that one comment about how wonderful c1 is, is blatantly fraudulent.  I did c1 in Indy, and wouldn't recommend it as a good idea.  I don't think the actual school was all that bad.  They got me a License, and that's the whole point.  They can't really teach you to drive a truck in 3 weeks, because it takes much longer than that.
However, if you sign that contract, you are signing your life away for 1 year, with no idea of what you are getting into.  If you get sick, fired, injured, etc.; that's your problem and you will owe them thousands.  This is about as close to indentured servitude as you could get in this country.
I'm not saying you should avoid becoming a driver, i'm just saying don't sign that contract w/ c1.
Also, if you are unemployed, you might be able to get the gubmint to foot the bill.  In that case, c1 wouldn't be a bad option.

This school  is deceiving and lying to as many people as possible to stay open. That ship is sinking they are total bottomfeeders. You, your family, none of that means nothing to these people their main goal is who can they trap in debt. Stay far away from this company, you will have a better career at McDonald's than as a beginning new driver that 40,000 is nothing but a lie and according to consumer protection laws it's illegal to manipulate the way they do. SPEAK UP PEOPLE PLEASE THIS HAS TO BE BROUGHT UP WE CAN NO LONGER BE QUIET ON THIS!!!!!!!!!

C1 is not an employment agency, it is a school! I attended the C1 Transport school in 1993. I found the training to be invaluable. The trainers were articulate and helpful. I was trained to drive carefully, and to handle the vehicle with care and consideration for others on the road. The trainers helped me to attain the mastery needed to reverse a vehicle into docks and tight parking areas without damaging other vehicles present. This is what I paid them to do. PAM hired me and paid for my training through C1. If there is a problem with this person's employment, he needs to address it through the company which hired him, not the school which trained him. You don't harangue your college because you lose the job that you were educated for.

Why are you mad?

It sounds to me like you just don't want to live up to your agreement with C1...you got your training, they got you a job, and you didn't keep it for a year like you were supposed to. My fiance went through C1 over 2 years ago and still works for PAM. It's the best job he's ever had, and if you're willing to work, they'll keep you working.

And the update you posted with the president's response pretty much shows that this is all on you. You signed an agreement and didn't hold up your end of the bargain. I just don't understand why you think they lied when you signed the agreement and faulted on it.

C1 DRIVER Solutions The Lies go all the way to the top

Since I posted last this story plot has thickened. While out on a date with my wife my bank card was declined, since I knew I had money in there I thought it was just a mistake. Later i found out they(c1) had taken me to court and had put a freeze on my account. Yes i was mad not knowing about this so i contacted their lawyer Brian something where I proceeded to inform them I had filed with ripoff reports and the BBB of Indianapolis after farther discussion he said they would accept the last offered settlement and I told him I would do what I could to come up with that amount. Now i received a response from the BBB and they said since this at legal status they could not help me. The interesting thing was C1 response to my filing was which I will post after this. Once again dishonesty flows freely from C1 pres Chris Welch.

RE: my name is inserted here

Dear Theresa

I am responding to the complaint Mr. F******.

Mr. F****** attend our driver training school in February 2003, he complete school and got his CDL license enabling him to begin a new career in the trucking industry. Mr F did not have money to pay for his training so we got him approved for carrier sponsored training in which a carrier helps him with tuition if agrees to work with that carrier for 1 year. On his first day of school. Mr F was given an hour orientation going over all the details of the contract paragraph by paragraph within the first 2 hours of him being at our campus. Mr f agreed to this relationship and signed the agreement on his first day of school and was to complete his training and then work for PAM transport for 1 year. Under the terms of the agreement, if Mr F works for Pam Transport for 1 year then we give him a tuition credit making his total tuition $995. If not employed with PAM for 1 year then he is responsible for the full tuition of $4995.

According to the complaint , Mr F did not complete his year with PAM Transport and terminated employment on 7/26/03. We don't have any details as to why Mr F and his carrier parted ways.

Because we have been unable to work out any type of payment for his training over the past 5 years we filed suit on 6/18/08 and were awarded judgment by the Court of Warren in Marion County Indiana on 8/12/08. We then identified a possible bank account for Mr f and sent a request to freeze it om 9/4/08. Apparently that worked because Mr f called us at 1pm on 9/9/08 telling us that his bank account was frozen capturing $680 and he was very upset about the matter and disconnected the call.

The end result is that we provided Mr F with valuable career training, a carrier to get him started in his new career which would also give him the opportunity to have reduced tuition if he worked for the carrier for 1 year. Mr F should be able to make a living from the training that we provided him. We just want to be paid for the time and effort it took to train him so I would be happy to extend a settlement offer that if he pays $2900 of his $4995 by 10/31/08, we will consider the account settled.

we try to provide all our students with a solid positive learning experience therefore it is always disheartening when students feel that they have been mistreated.

Let me know if there is anything else that I may be of assistance with.

Sincerely,

Chris Welch
