We hired Caitlin Philips as our doula (not even sure she is certified now), my husband and I found her extremely unprofessional.In summary- we signed a simple contract with her that stated we paid her $900, and the balance of $1000 due on May 1st. I received an email from her on April 17th, stating we owed her the balance on April 15th, and she could no longer assist us unless we completed our payment of $1000. This was news to us, our contract did not state this, nor did we receive any communication about a Payment Date of April 15th."I tried to contact her via email, text, Facebook about this discrepancy but she text me saying she was only willing to talk on the phone. Caitlin also told us to not include her name on our birth plan for the hospitals, as according to her they dislike her at the hospitals and she has been sued before in the past. I have a friend who is an attorney who did a court search on her, and found Caitlin has tried to sue 2 clients, and was very aggressive about it. I just dont want other women to go through this, it has been a really negative energy for me, and I am about to give birth.I am aslo concerned she will not follow HIPPA and kept confidentiality regarding my personal information. Caitlin showed me very intimate pictures of another womans birth, without her permission, and I happen to know the couple she showed me. Once this was realized Caitlin asked me to not say anything regarding thisI hope there can be something done, as it is just very unprofessional.

Due to Jacqueline Potter having re-posted her complaint, and should you read this far, you need only go to my Linkedin account to read endorsements and testimonials. And additionally, please take the following into consideration:
1. A year after her complaint, she's still vengeful, while at the same time being a new mother.
2. She sought me out and requested my services when she was newly pregnant. Why did she find it beneficial to remain in my care for the next eight months? We shared many, lengthy phone conversations, emails and a multitude of meetings for birth preparation.
3. When I referred her to a highly reputable OBGYN and to a Midwife for comparrison, she remained uncommitted to either. Both Physician and Midwife called me, with concern, to question and discuss her stability.

The complaints and accusations in the above report are fabricated by a Convicted Felon with intent to slander. Her criminal record is public, and includes extortion, blackmail, fraud, identity theft, to name only a few.

REBUTTLE: Every and all points of complaint in Rip-off Report dated April 24, 2015 are egregious and slanderous lies.
The woman/past-client who posted this complaint is a Convicted Felon, twice imprisoned with counts and charges for extortion, identity theft, fraud, blackmail, breaking and entering, auto theft and DUIs from 2002 to the present.
When, after multiple, professional requests, (and despite our signed contract), she refused to pay the balance for my service, I could no longer provide her continued Birth Preparation, Consultation and what would have ultimately been free Doula assistance. For this, she became enraged and vengeful, demonstrating continuous harassment, multitude attempts to blackmail, and violent threats left in texts and on my voice mail, in addition to malicious postings on the internet.
I hired a Private Investigator in order to obtain a background check. I then went to court, (she was a "no-show") and I was granted a civil restraining order. She was legally advised to - and she signed a second contract stating that she would - revoke and delete her internet postings once I refunded her partial deposit. I refunded her prior to court, however, she also ignored that contract. As she said on a voice mail message, which I presented in court, "Don't Fu__, with me...I will ruin your reputation. I promise." Indeed, she is attempting to.
Should you request proof of her background and criminal record, which lists the same crimes she has perpetrated on me, and should my excellent business standing of twenty-six years be in question, all court and other legal documentation is available to show. I'm happy to discuss, in full and with anyone, this extremely unfortunate situation.
