From June 2008 the California Business Bureau, acting on behalf of the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center (HPMC), has filed a claim against my with all 3 Credit Bureaus for close to $10K. This has prevented my having any credit for over 9 months. I sent documented evidence that the bill was settled 2 months earlier as agreed with the HPMC.

The original agreement made between the hospital, the insurance company and me on 2 January 2008 was in effect until April 2009 and was paid as agreed in that month. Over 90 days after our agreement the hospital altered their demands by first claiming that I owed twice what was already endorsed as paid in full. This was later raised again to an amount about 4 times more than originally stated.

The HPMC was allowed to act in the capacity of a Network Provider by the insurance company because of the emergency situation, a heart attack and stroke suffered by my wife. She should have been moved 2 blocks away to the Kaiser Permanente, a Network Provider and heart specialists (where she might have survived) This arrangement was forgotten after April 2008 in an apparent effort to obtain more money from me.

I have been advised by two lawyers that I do not owe what is now being demanded. I have submitted documentation to the Experian Credit Bureau that shows that the debt had been paid as agreed. The documentation was ignored on orders of the California Business Bureau. They tell the credit bureaus what to do!

Over the past year my letters and attempts to resolve to the insurance company and to the hospital have been ignored. I hope that some one can assist with this Ripoff.
