I recently had my vehicle towed (whatever happened to getting a ticket?) and granted its my mistake that I missed the fact that the sticker was not current on this vehicle, but gee, I always get my annual statement from my good buddies at the DMV reminding me that its time to pay up. I am quite sure I didnt get any notification from them.

What a great way for the state to increase revenues by not sending out notices. Not only do they save on paper, printing and postage and increase revenue for the state, but also for the cities that issue the ticket as well.  Not to mention those lovely lads at the tow yard. By the time they were through with me it cost $600.

Just what we all need during tough times, another government scam.
