Complaint Review: CA DMV - CALIFORNIA DMV - TRAFFIC COURT

The very most hated business' I have come to loathe in life are these: (In order)

1. Police Impound Tow Truck Companies

2. Bank of America

3. DMV

4. Traffic Court
Notice 3 of the 4 are all part of the same nightmare, united they function as the largest variable income the state of California has. Now if they made sense, performed a vital service we couldn't get anywhere else, or at least provided a decent level of accuracy and customer service even if they were ripping us off it wouldn't be so awful. But the tow truck driver who tows a vehicle that was within the law to be parked somewhere will still get paid! They will rummage through the valuables in the car, steal them, dent your vehicle, screw your suspension, charge you ungodly fees, try to close early to make you have to pay storage for one more day....Even use their position to obtain a key to a vehicle, so that after it has been released to it's owner, months later they can go to that owner's address (on-file) and steal the vehicle with relative ease and quickly drive to Tijuana. This happened to my husband...try to proven it? Can't but it was so obviously clear the thieves had the key, took it right midday in our driveway. Only one key existed ever.

Traffic court, if you can't wait for everyone else to go before you, you can't possibly be INNOCENT.

DMV who then hell are they anyway? Some Rockefeller oilman whose only hope was to secure. Any other ordinary company whose employees are sick of the endless numbers of the public. Using their initial start up role as a way to secure forever a monopoly like Rockafeller but worse. DMV is a seperate entity, please! Their not veterans or civil servants, but crooks! Smog your car it's for the environment but hey sorry you failed because your engine runs too lean!!! Too lean! Too little smog, pollution so you fail?

My husband moved to Florida and had no tickets, nothingn at all. DMV somehow went into one of his IRAs via Franchise Tax Board and took fee plus late fees for not renewing registration on his truck in California. He didn't even live here, never saw the money again, too much bullshit to pursue justice...too bad so sad.
My brother signed over his truck to my sister before leaving CA for Iowa. One year later,she never changed ownership, truck got towed, couldn't get out, brother not there, incurred nnsntnonnrage impound fees, was sold, then charges filed against brother for abandonment of vehicle. Took his Driver's License, fees w/ interest grew for 5 years without any knowledge of my brother. Suddenly it affected his Iowa License, ended up owing over $10k and lostn a chevny blazer truck!

Me, I got laid off, and had got a ticket for running a stop sign. (had it coming) clean dmv otherwise, cop said son't worry i will give you a court date in Jan after X-mas so you can pay fee. Well we had this toxic mold in our rental out of the blue we had to move in two ndaynsnnn,nnn Thanksgiving Day and the next. Lost the ticket but figured I'd go to court jan 1st to take care of it. went but wrong court other location and it's already a failure to appear! $547 instantly due also if no pay by 4/9/08 dl is suspended! Paying car payment and registeration over due. In just a few monthes I have gone from good citizen to criminal!
now if somehow the fees or late charges were fair i probably could have swung payment. but when you go up at least $200 $300 just for a harmless ticket it's screwed.

It's a system so high on it's righteousness that once you make a small mistake or are a victim of this righteous system that you will continue your fall to demise like a lead weight in water. Yeah I know there are laws but why does California have to be the state that basically rapes you if you do err and smugly continues to without care for anything but getting your money & rolling you into the gutter.

If ever I do move out of state, I am cancelling nnnmy license convert to ID, selling the vehicle instead of relocating, and confirming release of resposiblity, closing all IRA acct.s, filing all taxes first, chg my name and religion too.

the DMV is really a bunch of people from the 70s w/o having had to use their charisma or expensive education in finding job security like the rest of us. They provide crappy service, who can blame them I would do after awhile, they make lots of mistakes, they have no competition and no one to answer to. They make up the rules as they go really. Bitter unhappy people work there, and come in there to give for some magical curse they have spoken on you that makes you have pay these people for a right you kinda think should be yours to start. Totalling $2000 to remain driving streets they somehow own. All the kids that would get poked in the showers after PE, or hang out in bowling alleys but don't bowl, still wearing the same old polyester kauki blend pants your math teacher wore 40 years ago. why can't the state find us a contractor to compete against the dmv? Like they HAVE to do on every other contract on earth. sole source situations are used for an item only one company makes us, believe the DMV can be replaced, by an automated online system! DMV should not exist in our government when soldiers are going to war for the same pension and salaries these dmv desk fillers get. competition is a requiremet for every other contract & purchase the US makes, DMV should be an open bid. too much power, too little education equals DMV!

THE ONLY THING THAT MIGHT MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER IS THIS: I HEARD IF YOU OWE ON A TICKET, TO OVERPAY THE FEE BY AT LEAST $20. TOO MUCH TO BE IGNORED, ENOUGH FOR THEM SUPPOSEBLY TO SEND A REFUND CHECK TO YOU FOR...IF THEY DO, DON'T CASH IT. THAT WAY THE TRANSACTION NEVER CLOSES AND THE FINAL DOCUMENTATION OR MARK ON YOUR RECORD IS STOPPED. PRETTY SURE THIS WILL STILL ONLY WORK FOR SO LONG.
