california solar innovations inc
california solar innovations inc Egg Solar Solar system ripoff company be aware, stay away from this company!!!!!!!!! , San Diego, , California
we contracted with California solar innovations to install
our solar system. the original quote was for a 6.5 Kw solar system, we were
told this system would cover our needs. I told them I wanted to expand and
wanted a system that would allow me to with a 0 bill. we settled on a 10kw
system and that this system would generate about 18,000kw annually. this system
according to online graphs will only generate 15000kw annually, 3000kw short of
our minimum goal. when we signed the contract we were told if the system did
not work as we were told, they would ad panels to bring the system to what we
paid for. ie 18000kw in addition they also installed a solar heat system for
the pool. this system is also installed improperly. they did send a crew out a
week ago to address those issues. the crew that came out said that the solar
electric system was not configured properly and would not generate what we were
told it would. we have had another solar
company come out to see what it would take to get our system up to
18000kw annually, cost to do so, $14,000
this would get me to 20,000kw with 2,000kw to expand. I was told originally that they would expand
my system if not generating the 18,000kw we needed and any electric bill we occur would be paid
for by them. so far sense the system was installed we have received a $116.00
bill a $240.00 and a $65.00 bill. this is no ware near a 0 bill. the last email
I received from them, they said I would need to wait 2 years to see if the
system would do what they say it will do. on the very graph that they showed me
online, clearly showed my system would only have an annual generation of
15,000kw. this is unacceptable. the only resolution would be to give us the system
we were promised, and make good on the power bills. we don't want to wait 2
years because if they are doing business this way, they may not be in business
in 2 years. please help us resolve this issue as we paid out of pocket $46,000
for a system that does not do what we were promised. if you still have any
questions about how this company operates, please feel free to shoot me an
email and i will be happy to show you the handy work of these people. i can
send pictures or if you want to see firsthand i will be happy to let you come
by and see for yourself. gosllc@aol.com

Our March power bill is $7.32, our power companies facility charge and we're building credits from excess solar generation.
Hope your system works out well for you...we have no regrets.
Over time, my output will drop as my neighbors have still growing trees and this has all been taken into account.

they did finally fix some things but not all, we did ask for all us made panels and paid more for that but got Norwegian panels, we paid for a system that would generate approximately 16,000 Kw per year, what we got was a system that would do approximately 15,000 per year. I just want what i paid for and so should you. web box that was to be installed and setup was not properly done and now I'm told i need to do it myself........BBB did close the file because i waited a bit too long getting back,( will be getting back to BBB and state license board now!) because we were waiting to see what they would get fixed. the fact is, there should have been nothing to fix if the job was done right the first time. now they keep telling us we have to wait 2 years to see if the system will do what they say. the fact is that so far this year we are below average for cloudy days and rain. that would mean we are on track to do max generation and it does look like we are going to be right at that 15,000 average. now they did leave some charts with me to show that i am generating more than enough in the time frame, problem is they left out 20 days, when you factor in those days, the average drops below even the 15,000. good luck with your system, be sure to do your homework before you choose a company. now they wont even talk to me on the phone because i was mean to them. oh:( got to love it. do you really want to do business with children?

This is our 4th year in business. We have sucessfully marketed, sold and installed over 340 systems. 99.9% of our custmers are very happy with the installation. We have received numerous letters from our customers letting us know they are very happy with the job we have performed, from marketing to system installation and service.
The claims in this report are false and were dismissed by the BBB after showing them the documentation in our files regarding this system and its' production.

they said they will fix holes they made in the wall and paint but still telling me all experts are wrong and the chart he showed me online is wrong but he is right and the system will generate what he said, not what the chart said or even what sunny boy said it would. there all wrong and he is right. I guess we're off to court.

Is your solar system set up to generate power into the power grid...

when you're producing more than you're using?
If so, you also would need a large battery backup to get a $0 bill. The solar, without large, expensive batteries generates nothing at night and not very much on overcast days.
If, indeed your system were large enough, you probably could achieve the zero net usage on most days.
If you received a rebate from your power company for the installation, they often have rules on the amount of power you can be credited for on their power grid.
My 8kw system serves us well, but another reason you won't see $0 is most companies charge a "facility fee" which covers the costs of providing your service during times you need it, like at night or overcast day.
Glad you're taking the initiative and good luck with getting your system configured how you want it.
