Okay, so the school is simply not regionally accredited meaning it is not up to par, unlike University of Phoenix, Kaplan, etc. which all share the Distance Learning Accreditation.  Sharing a certification like this does not make up for not being regionally accredited, period.  Period.  This means they are NOT VALID!

Additionally, no one except for IDIOTS WHO PAID defend this school.  What does it mean when only those who wasted their dollars or those who earn their living from this "school" defend it?  You be the judge, or better yet, don't.

California Southern University and regional accreditation

If you ever look at the University of Phoenix you would realize they are horrible school with a horrible reputation. Yes they are regionally accredited but there are six bodies of regional accreditation and where I am from is California and their regional body isn't worth beans here. A lot of schools such as Kaplan are actually accredited by their regional body which is based out of New York However Kaplan is not a great school I recommend going to as their school credits transferable but they are a for profit school which ridiculous tuition fees. I can say that California Southern University is not a for profit school and requires you to pay you're own tuition which to me is better because it's reasonable and also can do it from any where. Third California Southern University recently applied for WASC accreditation which is the regional accreditation body for the state of california.  WASC reviewed their application and approved the first steps for their accreditation process. This process must be completed within in the four years and the university is currently doing the required self study at this moment which is the first step for accredidation from this body. If they are approved it will boost much for them and their credits will be transferable to other schools. They are taking the right steps to make them selves legitimate to the rest of the US.

Yes it's important for the the schools to be regionally accredited however university of phoenix for example is not WASC accredited but by another regional body and not really worth beans when you go to their school in california for example because WASC is the accredited body for this state. It takes a very long process for the DETC and they need to show proof that they are doing well in order to receive WASC Accreditation. California Southern University applied to WASC for Candidacy within the state and WASC deemed that they are worthy of Candidacy and so now now the school is within the first stages of doing a self study. They have within four years to complete their tasks for WASC to receive regional accreditation. The point is that they are in the process of working on WASC which I don't think the school will be denied if they do well.
