Please note: Novice users BEWARE! I now know about website pop ups and not to respond to them. I was given a link to the site Amish Donkey through an email a mate sent me.

When I got on there I discovered I was the 1,000,000th visitor to this site and had won a prize. I rang the phone number before the timer ran out to to claim my prize. I was told for a contribution of $568 I had won a holiday package valued at $1000s.

These pr$#ks are professionals. After discussing the package and all the extra features they were giving me I wasn,t sure I could afford transport costs etc. I was put through to someone else who told me I could bring 2 other friends, an extra 5nights at a new resort of theirs plus a Bahamas Cruise all meals entertainment included if I reserved it that day. Before getting my credit card details I asked if it was refundable if I was unable to go. He told I had 30 days to reverse the transaction.

They told me they would email me after i got off the phone and gave me their website to log on to. When I looked it up on my computer I found out it was a scam thank you JAY in Rotorua who made a rippoff report.

I rang them back straight away to cancel and get refund, but was told they were all busy and they would email me or ring me back. They didn't email me but they rang to see what I wanted I told them I wanted to be refunded. They basically wouldn't put through my reqeust.

Today I went to the bank and filled in a deputes claim against the charge. Thank You for the advice Rippoff report. If I wasn't so STUPID I would have relized it was a scam. Hindsight a wonderful thing. Does anyone know what the chances are of geting my hard earned money back?

how to get your money back from the company

#2Consumer Suggestion

My girlfriend in Australia got a phonecall about this particular holiday offer. She ended up agreeing to it and they took US$590 out of her account. After realising that flights would be extra, cruise tax would be US$400 plus other expenses we decided to try to get a refund.

Currently I'm in Canada so was able to get a hold of the company easier even though they have so many 1800 numbers that nobody ever answers. The company also goes under the name AmeriSuites Vacation Club and if you are overseas from America or Canada you can try to contact them on +1 407 997 1600 since the toll-free 1-800 numbers don't work.

First they told me that she could fax through a letter to the number: +1 407 997 1729 in America. However, after she faxed the letter I rang up to confirm that they got it and then they told me that no, they wouldn't accept a fax. She had to wait until she received a holiday confirmation package in the mail, and then she would have 30 days in which to send the complete package (along with a cancellation letter quoting name, address, phone and reference #) back to the company at a special address:

Attn Customer Service Center,
2921 A Vineland Rd
Kissimmee
Florida 34746
USA

After about a month she finally got the package explaining the details of the holiday. Just to be sure, she paid the extra fee for tracking which cost about AUS$35 in total when sending the package back. When I called them earlier to ask how long it would take for her money to be refunded they told me it could be up to 4-6 weeks after they received cancellation notice, however within a week she had the full amount refunded back onto her credit card.

So basically, while they don't make it an easy process to get your money back, it is possible.

Hopefully this helps anyone who gets lured into purchasing this holiday package and then decides they want to back out and get their refund.
