Just when you think something like this could never happen to you. Imagine my suprise when two weeks ago I receive a call from CAMCO informing me of a loan they are collecting on that is 12-YEARS OLD! I politely explained to them that how unfortunate for them that the loan was in fact paid off and they should try their game somewhere else.

Since that first phone call, I have done the following, and I would suggest you do the same - at a minimum; (1) file a complaint with the FTC Consumer Service Bureau; (2) file a complaint with the State of Illinois AG office and their Consumer Affairs office; (3) send a "Cease Communication Letter" to (S)CAMCO; (4) contact your State Banking Office to determine even is (S)CAMCO is licensed in your state; (5) and contact your state AG office and Consumer Affairs office to see if they can be of any assistance.

While I am outraged at this situation that I now have to deal with, I am trying to keep it in perspective. So like the gentleman from New York suggested, if there is a class action law-suit against (S)CAMCO, you can count me in!
