Yesterday I received a letter from CAMCO telling me I owed $1,452,53. I called them them today and let me say it was a mind blowing experience.

(Being nice I will use the word lady to identify the sex) I spoke to a lady named Stacy Woods ext.1516 I am very polite and asked her about the debt.

I explained to her than I have not had a Wells Fargo account since 92 and I don't ever recall owing them that kind of money. She tells me that they took over the debt and stuff like that and that it was $821 dollars but because the interest is still accruing on the debt it is now over a thousand dollars.

I tell her that I have seen my credit reports and nothing is on them about this debt, then she proceeds to tell me of course it wouldn't be because the debt is so old. I then explain that since it isn't on any of my credit reports that she must send me something in writing to tell me how I owe the money.

All of a sudden she got extremely ugly and tells me if I don't intend on paying my debts I should stop borrowing money. I then ask her, is it a credit card or a loan? She was so rude it was sad.

I don't usually raise my voice or curse but I was so aggitated. I told her that she should not contact me again. Well it kept going on, Stacy Woods kept saying you should pay your bills and stop borrowing money. Still having no idea of what she is talking about, she asked if I wanted to speak to her supervisor and informed me that she would call me from now on everyday.

After hanging up on her, I calmed myself down. I called back and asked the receptionist to transfer me to Stacy Woods supervisor and not her. Then a man identifying himself as Steve Johnson gets on the phone. I ask if his company promotes his employers type of conduct that would tell someone what they should and shouldn't do with their life? He says, no, but he happens to agree with her.

Well after explaining to him about the debt they are trying to collect on, he is as rude and implies that I am dumb because I can't seem to grasp the concept of what he is saying.

I break down some basic knowledge of what a charge off is and my rights as a consumer. Then he tells me I should let all my debts laps and live like the freeloader that I am.

He then tells me I should stop borrowing money as well, and why am I paying my debts now. Then he tells me that I know I have to pay the department of education back because they will take everything from me. Steve also told me to get a job and stop being a freeloader.

So after calling him an ignorant SOB, I tell him that it he couldn't get anything from me unless it was voluntary, the debt goes back to 92, and even if it was only 2 dollars they wouldn't get it from me.

I am now looking for a cease and desist letter. I just don't know what else to do.

They act like they are understanding if you act like you really want to pay the debt off...

I called to see if I could get a physical address for the company to send a certified letter of a cease and desist letter, but everyone was well trained and was unwilling to give a physical address. The guy Steve Johnson was willing to lower the debt to 4 hundred since he understood about my being a struggling student and not having that sort of money.

He offered to fax or email me some letter, but I didn't want him to have any other information than he already had. He kept saying they have something with Western Union and he was willing to lower the amount to 4 hundred dollars.

I was like let me call my dad who is an attorney and see if this is agreeable to him. He kept saying don't talk to anyone but me, gave me his ext 1516 , and explained how he was Stacy Woods boss and could override whatever she told me.

Well at least I had some of my laughter back, cause I really laughed when I got off the phone with him.
