A fellow worker had her the interior of her home painted by this guy. So, I just took her word that he was okay. He arrived at my home with his helper Pablo. Which he only paid about $10.00 an hour. Pablo did not know what he was doing and he was the one doing all the work. I told the owner if I had known that, I would have painted my house myself. Pablo oversprayed my chimney. Poked holes in my linoleum with his ladder. Ruined the finish on my ceiling fans with the masking tape. The owner said I could deduct this from the total, but it was never deducted. I made the mistake of paying him because he said he would make everything right. ( I work nights and he was there when I was asleep) Which he never did.

After I paid him I could not get ahold of him for 2 weeks. When he finally came over to repaint some areas, I had already paid someone else to finish. In additon, Campbells Painting did not paint the area behind my refrigerator or washing machine. He charged me an extra $500.00 for my cabinets but he did not paint all the edges. Many of the sides, tops and bottoms of cabinets were missed. In addition, he painted all my brass hinges. I had to take all the cabinets and hinges off to take the paint off, in addition to painting all the missed edges.

He never primed the interior walls. He said he would sand them real good. Now I have dog hair, dust, paint brush bristles, etc, stuck in my walls. My baseboards were never cleaned either and he painted over the dust. I would have cleaned everything ahead of time if he did not push me into getting my house painted the day after Christmas because he said business was slow and he needed the money.

At first I thought, "there is no way that this is the Terry that painted my house" but then I saw his response.

Lady, you must be on crack.  This guy is hands down one of the best painters in the business.  Not only did he come in several hundred dollars cheaper than other bids but the work was unbelievable!

He showed up on time and was easy to get a hold of when we had some questions.  The work was completed prior to him even accepting payment!  That is almost unheard of in today's economy.

Your fellow coworker should have filed this complaint (if she really had one).  I'm not sure who Pablo is but Terry is a working contractor meaning he is on the job site also.  If Pablo did exist, I know that Terry would have been irate if he found such sloppy workmanship.

You should really be ashamed of yourself for slandering someone with whom you had no personal experience.

Websites like these are a joke.

I am the owner of Campbell's Painting, state contractors license no. C-33-468581, and wish to state some facts in my defense. I've been in business since 1985, and you can go to California State License Board web site if you would like to check my record for any complaints, which there are none, nor are there any with Better Business Bureau. For me to have performed as stated in this report I believe is unlikely. In over 25 years of business I have yet to have a single complaint. I would hope any reader of this complaint would consider my work record. The client would not agree to let the Better Business Bureau decide this complaint even though she filed with them. The B.B.B. has 2 types of hearings, the first being that they decide the outcome of a complaint. The second is what I would call a more "he said-she said" type of hearing, which if a client doesn't like the results he or she can disregard the B.B.B.'s outcome, and then go on to small claims court, etc. This is the hearing the client wanted, which appeared to be as if the client didn't get her way, she would continue to drag it out. I elected to have the B.B.B. hear out her complaint, and bring this to a conclusion; However, the client did not. So I offered half of what she wanted in funds back to bring closure, which she agreed too. It is unfortunate that with my proven track record of quality work that my business is labeled as a "rip-off." The client made numerous false statements in her report that I have no way of disputing on this site, other than this rebuttal. This site does not verify the authenticity of a complaint, and has potential to harm businesses. I am by no means trying to attack this site, or the client.

If not I guess theres always small claims court. eather way good luck, it sounds as if the guy in question was broke and in need of money. or needed the money for somthing else (Drugs) well maybe? any way, the old saying says it all "You get what you pay for", your lucky you wern't robed or raped while you slept.

Note for future reference, always Hire Licensed Contractors, get everything in writing as well as a complete outline of prep, colors, Paints and sheens used. Aprox start and completion times and lien releses from employees, written Contract price. and always check out your Contractor by calling the same 1-800-321-CLSB you can find out wether they have insurance, or workers comp. for employees. and if they have ever had coplaints filed and most important if they are ligitimate.
