If our government cared anything about consumer rights and TRUTH in advertising, they would have shut down this evil corporation that has scammed millions of American shoppers for decades.

Over $3 for a can of soup deceitfully labeled "Chicken" when in fact there is only a few microscopic bits of chicken in every can, consumers are just paying for flavored water and soup that is over 90% carrots. This is the case with ALL of their soups, regular Campbell's soup and their "Chunky" brand. Worse yet... ALL their so-called "soups" are full of unhealthy and hazardous MSG (a flavor "enhancer" additive said to be the nicotine of food products, to keep consumers coming back for more) For more information on the hazards of MSG please see
These same scam artists at Campbell's also manufacture the horrible, overpriced cardboard-tasting and unhealthy Swanson brand of TV dinners, which are absolute pigslop and not fit for a dog to eat, much less a human being. They also own Pace products (equally as bad), and Prego sauces. Swanson dinners were fine long ago before they were bought out by the devious Campbell's Corporation and cheapened down to ripoff consumers and boost corporate profits.(((ROR redacted link)))

Sadly, most American consumers have been bombarded with Campbell's deceptive advertising for decades and are thoroughly brainwashed into thinking it is good food, when it fact it is very unhealthy, and a complete ripoff. How they have the NERVE to call a soup "chicken" or "beef" when in fact it only contains trace amounts, is beyond me. Parents serving this rubbish to their children had better take a second look and realize how truly unhealthy it is. There are plenty of good soups available to consumers which actually are nutritious and healthy. It's high time consumers boycotted ALL products made by Campbell's.

I so agree with you. I go bonkers over deer meat soup. Of course, Campbell's does not make such a variety, nor have I found any such flavor available anywhere except Ma's Kountry Kitchen here in Pony, Alabamama. BUT, it is delicious, nonetheless, and I thank you for sharing the idea that one can add ingredients to a regular soup product to make one's own unique soup experience. What a splendid idea indeed.

How can you claim this is a "rip off" when all of the ingredients are clearly listed on the label? By listing ALL ingredients in order of most prevalent to least, the company is not hiding anything at all from the consumer. Not taking the time to read said ingredients does NOT constitute a rip off. If you do not like the ingredients, don't buy the product. It's that simple!

Secondly, you want to know what a rip off is? Campbell's stole my pop-top-can idea that I invented in the 70s. Did I ever see one penny from it? No, of course not. They stole my idea right out from under me and proceeded to collect millions. Now THAT is a rip off!!

If you're in the Portland area, go to Trader Joes. There's about six locations. You'll find high quality, reasonably priced, healthy food.

They have an excellent soup selection which includes Tortilla, french onion, cream of mushroom, cream of asparagus, Caribbean vegetable, clam chowder, tomato bisque and many other outstanding selections.

Campbells isn't even fit for dogs. Maybe it's used to outfit bomb shelters in the event of a nuclear war.

Because most Americans are too frickin' lazy to make their own anything. They could make their own soups or hot sauce or lunches, for the next day, but noooo. Make my own hot sauce out of the veggies I grow out in my garden. Unless the deer eat 'em. That way, I know, exactly what it is I'm eating. If I want chicken in my soup, I throw in a chicken. If I want deer meat, I throw in deer meat.

There is an OUTRAGE RIPOFF far worse than Campbell's

The nutrition and ingredients label on Campbell's / Swanson products will tell you all you need to know. If you read it. This is a minor problem w/r/t the following:

If the OP wants a Food Ripoff to fight, consider this: Soy used in food products for humans.

Soy oil is an industrial byproduct, and the people who produce these Soy byproducts could either pay to dump them, or they can sell these Soy byproducts cheap for use in your food.

Names of some Soy byproducts
Soy oil
Hydrogenated Soy oil
Partially-Hydrogenated Soy oil
Soy meal
Soy flour
Soy glutin

WHY is Soy used in food products for humans an outrage Ripoff??

Soy supresses testosterone production in males.

This supression of testosterone is not a problem when you are 17 to 32, or so.

But when a man sails past 40, soy ingestion will begin causing a man to need VERY EXPENSIVE Viagra, or Cialis, or whatever, to keep his wife happy.

But if a man carefully avoids eating ALL products containing soy, any need he had for Viagra, or Cialis, or whatever, will probably go away.

What food products contain soy in its various forms?? Read the labels:

Bread (if the label says "canola and/or soy oil", you can bet it's soy oil)

Some "Healthy" Breads (Soy oil, Soy meal, Soy flour)

Breakfast Cereals (checkout Kellogs Special K)

Salad dressing

Pretzels

Soft Margarine (check Land-O-Lakes)

And keep checking!

You could easily be eating a LOT of Soy.
