In febuary of this year I purchased a campbell Hausfeld Air compressor at Canadian Tire at church and Yonge sts. I used it three times but now it doesn't work. Canadian Tire takes no responsibility in what they sell obviously because after trying to return it they told me that it was still under warranty and would have to be serviced in Scarborough,Ontario. That should take me about three hours to get to from where I live.

I've used the compressor three times before it broke so I guess I paid One hundred dollars for each time I used it-taken into account that I paid three hundred in the first place. I guess they don't call it "CRAPPY TIRE" for nothing. Canadian Tire is just one big $ store with crap for merchandise. Contractors spend too much money
for this junk.

Thanx Canadian Tire for a royal rippppp-offff.

"Our compressors have a 1 year repair warranty"  and that mirrors the claim of Campbell Hausfeld with an exception.  Despite opening a new compressor that had not been used to fine it broken, right out of the carton, today (February 11th, 2010 at aprox. 12: noon Houston time)  I called Campbell Hausfeld and had the displeasure of speaking with one  who stated his name was Derrick (Operator # 2385) who, proceeded to tell me they would not replace, tried to diagnose the problem without seeing, and said after I send receipt they would send a universal replacement part and  that I would have to change the item out my self.

I asked for Corporate Customer Service number, he said he was it as well as the Tech.

Campbell Hausfeld appears to be just another of the growing pushers of junk who feel once they make a sale, they have nothing else they owe the consumer that might be considered fair and just.

I'd advise contractors to consider other sources, unless you want to "do it yourself" if something should happen to your never used or barely used piece of equipment.

a company that makes millions should just replace the unit, whats 300 buck's for the bad publicity they spend millions on.

The reasons for buying online, in this case, are very simple. Most if not all of these products are shipped from china without oil. Was direction take4n on the manual, probably not since we guys only read directions after the problem.
The reason for shipping without oil is the enviromental concern. Hey we all live on the same planet.

Still think unless the consumer was a total a*s and even then a company that makes millions should just replace the unit, whats 300 buck's for the bad publicity they spend millions on. He did'nt ask for a refund just a working unit.

Why this post is because i'm suing candian tire for not replacing a 60 dollar set of taps which damaged 3.5 k worth of flooring. I could call the insurance company, i could live with it. But a 60 dollar set of taps, now will cost canadian tire a new floor and this could have been resolved so easily for 60 bucks on a new set of defective taps. This company is now in my not to buy from list, back to wal mart which is the demon they fear, unfortunatly wallymart would have just stuck a new tap in my face. Stop playing with pennies.

When I made a complaint and informed them that I had spent over $26,000.00 in the store in the past 6 years, I was told that "Customer loyalty has no relevance here".
Also, Canadian Tire Customer Relations CANNOT resolve anything that can't be resolved at store level. The individual store owner has the final say.

I am sorry to hear that Mr or Ms. Roderick
had a problem with a product from our store.

First let me state that all of our Campbell Hausfeld Air tools and compressors are of the highest quality. The Campbell Hausfeld name is an industry leader, and their products are put to the test daily in our very busy auto service area. Most times when these products are returned it is through missuse or lack of maintence. (i.e. lack of compressor oil etc.).

Our compressors have a 1 year repair warranty. The customer certainly never has to go anywhere but our store to act on this warranty. We send the compressor to an authorized repair depot. When the compressor arrives back we phone the customer. We only ask that the customer show proof of purchase. We pay for all of the labour and shipping cost. The turn around time at most repair depots is 2 weeks.

Campbell Hausfeld is always looking for feedback on their repair depots. If you are having a problem with a repair depot you may call them at 1-866-220-2097.

Canadian Tire's Customer Relations hotline can be reached at 1-800-387-8803 for any concerns that can not be resolved at store level.

We remain hopeful that we can resolve this concern of a valued customer.
