CanadianTire AutoCentre negligent service!! Ripoff Ottawa Ontario Canada
Not sure how that's going to help me personally, but I'm writing this to warn everyone else who will choose to take their car to CanadianTire Auto Centre.
Two days ago I brought my car over to CanadianTire to get my tires changed for winter ones. I was told that they are busy at the moment so I'm goint to have to wait before they get to my order, but they will call me when they are done. That was on 10 am Tuesday. Two days later and I still haven't heard anything, so I went over there and I see my car parked in the handicapped parking spot (!!!) in front of the store, with the tires all packaged in the back seat, which means that they were already done and yet no one has called me about it. I come over to the front desk and ask the person there if my car is ready and if I can pick it up. She goes to hand me the keys, and when I asked when was the work finished and why no one has called me she goes to say that she doesn't know.
When I got home and looked at the receipt it said that the date of customer pickup was the Tuesday date at around 5 pm, which means that for 2 (!!!!) days my car was standing in the parking lot over night for no reason, parked in the handicapped spot (eventhough I'm not handicapped and so don't have the special parking permit!... it's an accident that I didn't get fined for that...). And what's even worse is that when I went to check that all the doors are locked I found that the back door was unlocked!!!! So for 2 days it was parked overnight, with unlocked back door!... I don't know how it didn't get stolen.. and yet they had the nerve to charge me $83 for changing tires!
I am still furious about the situation, but I guess there's not much I can do about that except to be happy that despite such negligence I still have my car intact, and NEVER come back to that place again.... so BEWARE of that place.

The customer pick up date probably had nothing to do with when it was actually ready. Our computer system automatically sets 5pm and the same date as the dropped off date.
So if you dropped off your car on Tuesday morning at 10 when they entered you into the system the computer probably set 5pm the same day as "promise" or "pickup" time. So, like us, they probably never bother to change that detail. Really has nothing to do with how long it was sitting there.
Still bad customer service.
