I have read the reports on this web site and others regarding Sunset Group timeshares being immorally and fraudulently sold in Cancun, Mexico to Americans and Canadians.
This report is to alert future potential victims of another time share this organized crime organization appears to be on the verge of enticing into parting with huge sums of money. It is also to warn people of a tactic that they are using to fish people in that has not been described on this web site, and may be a new one or an old, sponsored and funded by the past victims of this US-Mexican mob entity.
Their next "worm" to suck people in is using a travel agency which is essentially just a telemarketing organization to entice people with a hotel package for $399 to the Laguna Suites Resort in Cancun Mexico in which they give people a "free" hotel stay in Orlando and Daytona Beach in Florida as a "gift" for signing up.
I wondered about this until I did some research and realized that this "free" hotel stay is most likely in the use of timeshares of people like the victims on this site who do not realize their timeshare is being used to suck in future timeshare victims at the victims' expense. In other words, I get their timeshare for free unbeknownst to the real owner of that timeshare who paid to get real income from it but isn't.
It seems to be like a pyramid scheme where past victims pay them to build this crime organization's new hotels and upgrade the old ones, where the victims get nothing out of their investment, and where they use those past victims' timeshares to give future victims "free" rooms, which of course weren't free because the past victims paid for them and expect some kind of income from them.
The name of the next timeshare or the lure they are using is Laguna suites in Cancun, Mexico which is lagunasuites.com.mx. Don't forget the mx extension to the com.
The travel agency is Cancun Travel Unlimited. The name that shows up on the credit card is Sunset Travel.
If this can save one single person tens of thousands of dollars, lost sleep and confidence and anger, and prevent this organized crime network from inflicting the trickery and deceit, pain and suffering on others, then this report was worth the time to write. And if it can help somebody who was mugged by these thugs in the past, it also will be worth what I endured in getting this information.
There's no question the Sunset Group is an organized criminal network made up of hotels, a mafia-style collection agency (Resort Management International), travel agent aka marketing company. They also seem to have quite the network in Cancun of bus drivers, cab drivers, airport personel, etc... to fool people into giving them their money.
I found it interesting that the address of their collection agency at Resort Management International is the number 1110 and 910 to make up the date of 2001-11-9, the date of 911 tied to the name Mobile as in phone. Deal with them and you end up suffering your own personal nightmare and financial catastrophe. I also found it interesting that their postal code is 36609 - 666's, the mark of the satanic beast.
There are different kinds of terrorists and clearly, this is an example of a different kind from 911, one that uses terror in the building of large buildings instead of in their destruction, one that holds people hostage using money instead of box-cutters. But they too use airplanes and air travel as their vehicle and medium of mass financial destruction.

what ever you wanna think! I have not recieved a refund nor have they contacted me with in the last 3 years and probably 20 calls-30 e-mails.! they suck and are indeed rip offs! there wouldnt even be this forum and all these replys if it were not true! there is your proof! do you see as many and alot of other places on the net that have this one complaint in common???? Well there you go! so understand that these idiots are in deed scammers and crooks and low lifes and basic SCUM!!! I am going to collect my rightful money within several years and have already done my research--I will be personally taking care of business on my own, and there are two uppers who will never know what happened! L.O.L. I am done trying to simply get my money back the legal normal way.If they indeed read this stuff, perhaps they will heed my words.

These over aggressive and complete over bearing idiots down in Mexico have no intentions of offering what they advertise. The brochures they send are fictitious.In fact some of the places do not exist.They will not refund any money or return any calls. If you offer any money or credit card numbers be for warned. I couldn't even get a return from visa. The Mexican government will not help either! It is run by the mafia. So if you want to spend your money elsewhere my advice is to do it, lets put these crooked morons out of business.I am a victim, and one day when I make it down there I will collect one way or another and play the same game they did with me as everyone else.

That is all well and good, and your claims certainly have an underlying plausability - at least as far as the time-share selling thing goes. However, when it comes to the organized crime details, it begins to smack of conspiracy theory and when you start talking stuff about the 'Satanic beast' and terrorism and all this sort of thing, it really begins to sound somewhat like you may be just a little bit unbalanced. And you have provided NO evidence to back up your claims, and this has not escaped me.
I actually purchased a similar package, also from Sunset Hotels, but I am unable to go, and am in the process of attempting to sell the package. Your claims concern me, but I also don't see that you've provided any information to back them up. If you have some, I would be grateful to hear about it.

Wow.
Saying things like the quote below prove that this report isn't based on anything substantial, but instead is a way for you to vent your conspiracy theories. In all seriousness, why would you say something like:

Comparing a honest, helpful timeshare / yacht club company to biblical references of satanic beasts and terrorists doesn't really fall in line with the purpose of this website... which is to provide a way for people who have actually been ripped off to tell others about it.

I've been working for the sunset tele marketing division for almost a year.
I don't know were you got your info but i've never heard so much BS.
1st nobody gets put up in the time share resorts Sunset owns 6 resorts 4 time share and 2 normal resorts the time share resorts are listed on rci.com 2 in cancun and 2 south of cancun the two resorts that the people who buy the package stay at are the Ocean Hotel and the Laguna Suitess Golf and Spa and they have nothing to do with the time share division you are right that time share with sunset is a Joke Because the 3 of the 4 resorts are 90%-100% booked all the time the 4th resort Tres Rios just finishing complition and will open with 360 rooms this summer and will be done in 2010 with 1,700 rooms when that happens it should ease the bookings at the other resorts there was going to be a 7th time share resort built but hurrican Wilma destroyed the property. And whats with all that other nutty stuff did you get droped on your head when you were a baby ???

When we sell this Vacation package the consumers know what they are getting and we make sure of it. They are told up front that the reson they are getting this is for a time share presentation and before the buy the package they know all of their responsibilities so put some facts up or shut the F*** up
