We took our 8 pound miniature dachshund to be boarded at Canine Companions, Inc. Less than two weeks later, our beloved Heidi had lost over one pound, looked emaciated, and was suffering from severe dehydration. I rushed the dog to our veteranarian, who pushed an IV and completed blood work. His diagnosis, a dehydrated dog. Had we left her a day or two longer, we would have had a dead dog.

When I called Brian to ask for a partial refund for boarding fees, and an explanation of what went wrong, he told me our dog weighed 7 lbs. when she arrived. He blamed my husband, saying we elected not to accept medical treatment. Brian became rude to me, and did not even offer an apology. He did not offer any consolation to try to make the situation right. Please stay away from this kennel. Brian has had numerous bad reports in the past, which I did not realize until I began researching his business today.

At this point, my dog is still lethargic, and is due for another vet visit tomorrow. I am still afraid we will lose her. I will continue to update on this site.
