After taking pictures of my 7 month old grandaughter with my 4 month old Canon Powershot A-75 , I was in the middle of downloading the pictures when the operation stopped. I tried again and got a message that there was no memory card.

I contacted Canon service and was instructed to send the camera to them with my receipt for the warrenty. After a month without hearing anything I called to get some kind of update. I was told I owe them almost what I paid for the camera to get it back. They claim the camera was dropped and thats what damaged it. When I explained what happened, she told me to call back with a credit card to get my camera back. I then sent an email to the repair center trying to explain and get some satisfaction and all I got back was a form letter saying how much they appreciate my inquery and "Value" their customers.

There may have been scratches on the camera just from use but I always kept it in a camera bag and never dropped it. I have no choice but to pay them again for my camera.

Don't count on Canon!
