A call came into my 14yr old daughters phone today to talk to me. She stated I was not available. She was told yes I was that she better put me on the phone right away. My daughter said no she isn't.

This person stated I know she is there I was told she would be. My daughter gave the phone to my mother. My mother was told by this person that they were with Travis County and that they better put me on the phone right away. My mother informed them that I was asleep. This person stated well you put her on the phone right now or

I will send a Sheriff out there to take care of this. This was told to my mother several times as well as stating he was with Travis County. My daughter brought the phone to me. This person identified himself as Eric Vachon from CAMCO and the phone number was 1-877-298-0845 Ext 2017. This person stated I owed a bill from June of 1995.

The original bill was 680 or so but due to 8% interest it was now one thousand or so. This man made me very angry. He also told me that he was with Travis County and that he was going to send a Sheriff out here. He also told me that I had to pay my bills. I stated that the one thousand something was not a correct amount and before I could tell him that my husband had paid that off he stated no that the 680 was what had incurred interest.

My husband has been passed away for 6 yrs now and I have no way of going back and checking papers before then especially since I do not have any of his papers. This man told me that he could settle for a reduced amount. I told him I was not going to deal with him and he proceeded to tell me I better pay my bills. He told me I would pay it and how was I going to handle it. I told him to stop calling me. He said he didn't have to.

I told him I would file charges on him for harassment and he said that he was not harassing me because he had an intent. This is the legal definition of harassment ; The Modern Penal Code section 250.4(MPC) defines harassment as a petty misdemeanor if with purpose is to harass another, he: 1) makes a phone call without a legitimate purpose; or 2) insults, taunts or challenges another in a manner likely to provoke violent or disorderly response; or 3) calls at inconvenient hours or in offensive language; or 4) subjects another to offensive touching; or 5) engages in any other course of alarming conduct serving no legitimate purpose of the actor.

I believe that insults, taunts or challenges another in a manner likely to provoke violent or disorderly response would be what this man did and I believe this is harassment. I will be reporting this to the Attorney General in Texas, in Illinois with the FCC because I told him not to call me any more and he said I will call back after this one and I will call several times a day. I am also reporting this to the FTC, The BBB in Illinois and with the Credit Bureaus also.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
