I received a letter notifying my husband that his Wachovia Account which was formerly held by Fourscore Resource Capital, LL had been purchased by Capital Acquisitions and Management Company.

I called a "George Buchanan" at (866)436-2609 EX: 857. He told me the debt was for $499.20, but I were to pay it right then he would only charge me $200 to clear the debt. He had no back-up information. However, He had my husband's social security number and previous addresses.

This man could not fax or provide me with any proof of this debt. However, if I gave him my check information over the phone to make payment he would send me an affidavit showing the debt had been paid. Otherwise, it would go on my husband's credit record, and people would call us continually until we paid.

He gave me to a lady to speak with. She gave me a 901 telephone number for the Better Business Bureau, which was bogus.

At know time could I get a straight answer or evidence out of either individual. I refused to pay so now they will probably be bugging me for a long time.

Also, they claimed that Capital Acquisition & Management Compamy has been in business for seven years. Still and yet, they had no proof of the debt to provide.

They have quite a scam going, and I for one would like to know how such people can be stopped before they hurt others.
