This company keeps calling me and telling me I have this unpaid dept to Traditional Industries. I have never heard of that company. They first told me it was a bank. Then they told me it was a store, then last they told me it was a service.

They have come up with several different amounts that I supposedly owe them and they have NEVER sent me any sort of correspondence. They call and harrass me constantly. They told me the debt was from 1991!!! I didn't even think it was legal to collect a debt that old. They just called me and asked me the name of my lawyer so they can send my lawyer a copy of the judgement.

I really lost it on the phone. I want them to stop calling me and stop trying to rip me off for something that is NOT mine!!

http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/statue-limitations.html

Go to this website. This lists the statute of limitations for each state. Go to the home page and click on Disputing Debt Letter. Click on the link to the Initial Dispute Letter. Send it certified mail, return receipt to their STREET ADDRESS, not their PO Box. I know it's listed under many posts on this board and is listed in mine which I filed on here back in April.

What you will receive back from them is not the documents you demanded, but rather a stupid notarized letter from a Jeff Garrington (unless they've changed people). THIS IS NOT PROOF. You will then have absolute proof of violation of the Fair Debt Collection Pratices Act, among other things. You will next file complaints with the BBB, FTC (both can be done online), the IL AG and the NY AG for these violations. You may want to find out if there is a class action lawsuit starting against CAMCO in NY and join in. That is something I hope to be working on shortly here in MA.

Good Luck!
