My vehicle was repossessed in January for temporary tags expiring.  My daughter had went up to the office to pay my tags and tags and they would not allow her because her name was not on the loan.  I had to pay $500 for repossession fee to have it released and did not receive my truck for almost 3 weeks, iin which if I had not went to motor vehicles to pick up my own tags, I would not have received them for another 2 weeks.   In February, I fell behind after having to give $900 plus an additional $500 for the repossession fee because at the time I was also in the process of moving.  I gave $400 check on March 29th to catch up with my missed $200 payment in February and the 1st payment of March.  When I realized the check bounced as a result of my account being tapped into, I immediately made a $400 payment via debit card on 4/1.  My payments are originally $200 biweekly.    I then attempted to make a payment on their online system on 4/18 for $400.  The system would not allow me to log on and I tried 4 times to change my password.  I tried from 3 computers.  I then contacted the office on a Saturday 4 times as well as left several messages for them to reset the system.  No call back or assistance received.  I went to the office to put a payment in the dropbox and it was shut down.

On Tuesday 5/5, I decided to leave the payment in their mailbox- money order for $400 with my new contact # for confirmed receipt.  No call back.  On Thursday 5/7/15. I received a message at work to contact the office.  I thought this was strange since I gave them my new cell #, so I looked outside and saw that my truck was gone.  I use my vehicle for work to visit patients in the hospitals.  I contacted the  office and was told they would call me back. 30 minutes went by and no return call.  I then called again for an answer as to why my truck was repossessed.  The owner stated that I had a check bounce.  I replied that I was aware and as she could see I immediately rectified that.  She then stated that I have paid late since I received the truck.  I stated that was untrue, I fell behind and since then make $400 payments monthly, there is no justification for repossession of my vehicle and I will be contacted an attorney.

The breakdown is as follows:

Payments to start 2 weeks after tags received, tags received 1/22:

$200 payment made 1/3/15

$200- 1/10

$200-1/31

$205.99- 2/19

$400 check-3/29 (returned)

$400 debit payment- 4/1/15

$400-5/5/15

If paid $200 biweekly, my next payment would not be due until 5/4.  I have been paying $400 and my next payment would be made on 5/14.  My truck was repossessed for being 2 days late on $200?  I feel this an attempt to get more $ out of me.  I have communicated issues via email and left my new # once I obtained a new phone.  I want a full refund of the $ I put out- $4,284.49.

Please help me out in this matter.  I do not want to do business with this place anymore and feel that I have been railroaded.

Thank you,

Margretta

See, the first thing "Robert" is doth protest too much... So I am pretty sure you are a dealer or the dealer. Second, that is the problem with places like this, you assume we are all alike.... I would much rather pay an attorney, since I work 7 days a week (there goes my time issue) when I know I am right then pay the dealer. However, thanks for your concern, but my landlord is an attorney and he gets paid on time every month! Now, back to my picture and dates.. If my payment was not due until 2/5- then it is painfully clear that I was 3 payments ahead having paid on 1/10, 1/23, and 1/31- "Oh heaven forbid, penalize her for that"! Lol... You have someone who not only pays but attempts at communication in which, this dealer's poor customer service does not deserve. And they didn't even get a chance to make it "difficult" when my check bounced as I paid it immediately after I knew. But, let us let the judge sort this all out. This dealer has numerous complaints of similar practice that I have found online and I am not taking this laying down. I am not perfect or 100% right, however, I have rights and will not keep getting screwed over by poor business practice. Just return my $ and we can part ways. I do nothing but work. With my tax and tags, I attempted numerous times to pay online and finally when my daughter came home from school, I had her take it to them. I don't get off in time to make it there and without a job I can't pay my bills. So let's penalize the customer for their screwed up system and then refuse to allow her daughter to pay for what reason? Oh, a $500 repo fee. You still got paid after that when it wasn't due... There is no repo for the month of February- but let's repo it when she has been paying consistently. Makes no sense other than they set people up to fail and reap the benefits. Bottom line is this going to be a repetitive cycle in which I keep having to dish out unnecessary money. Margretta, Vineland NJ

Excuses...

Okay you are right they reposessed your car the first time because they didn't let your daughter get the tags.  But guess what, the only reason you were in that situation is because you waited until apparently the absolute last day to do it.  But of course the "excuse" is to blame them..right?

You talk about making it difficult to make a payment.  Okay were they making it difficult when you missed a Feburary and March Payment?  Did they make it difficult when your checked bounced?.  Of course not...that again was totally on you.  Oh wait but the "excuse" that time was because you were moving and had your account hacked into.

By the way totally ignoring what you wrote above as your pay dates as they make absolutly no sense.  Taking a couple of benchmarks.  You stated you owed $200 biweekly, that is every two weeks(so there will be two months a year you pay 3 times a month).  You also stated that your payments start 2 weeks after 1/22.

This puts your first payment due on 2/5, and from 2/5 to 4/30 you should have made 7 payments ($1400).  Yet from the screen shot you posted.  Giving you the benefit of the doubt and counting the 1/31 and 5/5 payments..we get the following

1/31 - $200

2/19 - $200

4/9 - $400

5/5 - $400

That totals ONLY $1200 which is $200 SHORT.  I did not include any extra fees such as the returned check fee you were most likely charged nor any other "repo" fees you may have added into those payments.

So yes, just based on this you are late and from the information you posted here both Repo's were probably valid.

By the way, just out of curriosity with all of your money and time issues with the difficulties in making your payment, just how are you going to get the time and afford an attorney who will tell you basically the same thing?

Oh and no before you say it, I do not now or have I ever worked for any car dealer or finance company.

The truck would have been properly registered had they allowed my daughter to pay when she went to pay. There was no reason she needed to be on my account to pay my tax and tags. As a result, the 1st repo- for no reason, out $500. Against my better judgement, I paid it, received my tags. The response I received when I asked why I could not use the online payment- call the help desk. If they are the owners and everything is on the up and up.. They would know there is no help desk to call- I found out when I tried to make my payment in April. So you are telling me that is ok to make it difficult to make payments then repossess your vehicle? What kind of customer service is that? Where is the justice? Margretta, Vineland New Jersey

As you presented it, you have a history of not keeping the car properly registered, late payments and not one but TWO repo's.  Clearly they don't want to do business with you because its YOU who doesn't live up to the contract YOU signed.  No ripoff here!

Don't bother writing back, "you must work for them", because I don't.
