I recently received an offer from Capital Choice Consumer Credit similar to all of those reported here...I was holding onto it to consider whether or not to apply, as I really could use improvement of my credit. However, having worked for lawyers for several years, I always read the fineprint first. Unfortunately, the fine print on the back of this letter was in light blue ink and almost unreadable.

After sitting tonight with a magnifying glass, I was able to ascertain that this card was not a real credit card per se, but rather a "merchandise" credit card that would allow me to buy stuff from "third parties" with a 35% downpayment. Since the reading was getting tough, I decided to go online and see if I could find out who these "third party" merchants were. Thank God for this site. It was the first listing on Google.com.

This rip-off is not just in Florida. I am in Colorado. What are the remedies here, and where can I sign to help find these people as they move across state lines preying on people who can least afford this kind of scam?

Thank you for your site. This is definitely mail-order fraud. Isn't that a federal crime? Please let me know what I can do to help. (I suspected anyone offering me a $5000 credit line with no credit check had to be a little shady!)
