Complaint Review: Capital Choice

Capital Choice offers consumers a way to rebuild there credit. They charge you a $99.00 fee in order to make your account active, once you recieve your packeage from them in the mail you discover that it is NOT an actual Visa/Mastercard, but a credit card that allows you to purchase products solely from there merchandise catalog at outrageous prices and shipping fees. I cancelled this card only after it took me almost a month to get through there alway busy phone line, only to have them tell me the only to cancel this card was to send the entire package back them. Capital choice told me that once the recieved this package back that they would refund my $99.00 that they took from my bank account. I sent this package back them by registered mail (which cost $7.10), Capital Choice picked it up and signed for it prior to my 30 days being expired. This was back in March, to date I still have not recieved my $99.00. Now Since this they have given my banking information to 2 other companies that I am aware: 1.) HARTFORD AUTO CLUB (866) 849-1964, which took $99.00 out of my bank account and claim that is NON-REFUNDABLE after 30 days, but no where on anything I received from them di it state this. 2.) Some Phone Company that took $39.00 times 2 out of my bank and again was told the same thing that its NON-REFUNDABLE and with there telephone phone line always busy there is no way to reach them. That's a total of $283.00 that I might never see again all because I wanted to work on my credit rating. These companies take advantage of the people in the worst way total dishonesty. How they can sleep at night knowing that they are really stealing from people that actually work hard for there money and cant afford scams like this. John Ellwood City, Pennsylvania
