I purchased a 2002 Chevy S-10 from Capitol City that had 1,000 miles on it, for a grand total of 35,430.00 on May 21, 2002. Since then I have learned the value of the truck is about 10,000.00. They had me lie on my credit application in order to get approved.

They orginally sold the truck on 10/28/2001 to another person for 32,910.64 so how come as a used vehicle the price goes up? But I guess I was luckier then them , they stuck that person with 21.8%.

They talked me into this great security system (Express Code/Etch)for 2,500.00 that you can get for around 40.00 or police depts. usually do for free. I also got the Gap insurance for 495.00 which can be gotten for usually 200.00.

I was lead to believe when I signed the contract that I had five days to get it financed on my own at a lower rate, but the darndest thing no place would because the truck was so over priced. But since I willingly signed the contract I guess I'm stuck. You want to talk about PREDATORY FINANCING the loan is through Bank of America, prior to this sale they wouldn't even open me a checking account but I'll be dam'd they gave me a loan for 30,000.00.????? ANYONE WANT TO BUY A TRUCK?

Where Does YOUR Responsibility Begin???

#2Consumer Suggestion

Sat, May 17, 2003

Christine:

So, they had you LIE on a credit application? When they suggested that, they told you UP FRONT what kind of people you were dealing with! What did you do? You played "DOOR MAT". Why is it that you can participate in a fraud, (lie on a credit app) and then they further treat you poorly and now its THEIR FAULT??? HELLO! Is there something wrong here??? Your experience is tuition on an important lesson.

Dealers shouldn't lie to customers, should they? Consumers shouldn't lie either. Maybe someday you will be able to look in the mirror and see a woman of integrity. Let this experience be the motivation toward that end.
