I was told over and over that they “didn’t make any money on the deal” and they wouldn’t budge on fixing any problems found with the truck.  I traded my 2016 Hyundai Santé Sport in for this truck and it had a remote start I wanted removed. I was told to call back the next day to inform them of what we needed to get this done. My husband called (less than 12 hours from purchase) and said “never mind” as we found out it was too costly. He asked if they would look at the brakes as they are squeaking and the trucked seemed to be due for basic service. Salesman said nothing was noted during the test drive.  I did mention it took a lot of push on brake pedal to get the truck to stop but nothing was offered at that time.  My husband was told again more than once during this conversation that they didn’t make any money on the deal and were not going to look at the truck.  My husband did, at that point, ask if they routinely don’t maintain or service their used vehicles, as his request for them to look at vehicle was continually denied. Salesman reported again they didn’t make any money on vehicle.  My husband said he was not happy with dealer and their lack of standing by their used product. Gene reported that he would not help him any further and not provide us out 2nd set of keys to truck.  As a customer who spent over $34k on a used vehicle I am appalled by the lack of service at this dealer.

We found out that the GM had taken the truck out of town that weekend to TN, the truck was very dirty, (they did clean up later) and with over 1000 miles put on the vehicle that weekend, you would think they would have noted that the brakes needed attention.  I am calling corporate, reporting to the BBB, and placing public notice on facebook not to buy from this dealer.  I didn’t set the price of the truck. I just bought it.  It is not the customers fault the dealer had not made any money on the sale.  It is the dealers fault the truck was improperly maintained.

It is your fault if you still bought the truck. You bought a used vehicle and unless you have a WRITTEN warranty or something in WRITTING that says they are responsible for something, it is "As-Is" and EVERYTHING that needs to be taken care of is your responsibility. Even if they made $30,000 or lost $2000 on the deal there is no requirement for them to do anything beyond the written contract.

If the brakes were "squeaking" then that is something that you should have noticed on the test drive and not purchased it until they fixed it. If you wanted the remote start removed or a second key you should have gotten in in writting.

As for you not setting the price of the truck. Again...WRONG. YOU are the customer, they need YOU, you don't need them. If they gave you a price and you didn't like it then you walk away or negotiate to a lower price.

However, on the other side. I can guarantee you that they did make money, they are not a charity, they are a business. Now they may not have "made money" on the actual purchase price. But if you financed it through them they may have made some, and if you bought any "extra" items such as insurance, maintenance you can be sure they made a nice margin on that. But again, that has NOTHING to do with their responsibility on any issues that you failed to get fixed or get in writting to get fixed before the sale.

If a dealer pulled that "We aren't making any money" then I would tell them B/S for the exact same reasons I just mentioned and walk out.

One final item. Since it looks like you just bought the truck, perhaps they may eventually decide to look at these things and hopefully it works out.  But the point here is that they are under no obligation to do so.

Good Luck
