Capital Credit Alliance CCA - I just called these clowns...listen to THIS latest boatload of s***
This might be funny if not for all the people they've stolen from. Thanks, by the way, to everyone who's reported them...I got my "Approved Exclusive" card today, and like everyone else who tries to research CCA on the web, I ended up at THIS website.
ANYway, reading everyone else's complaints made me furious, so I called them (with no intention, of course, of activating the card.) I asked the guy if CCA had a website where I could check out their merchandise, and he said no, there's no website, and that once my card was activated, I would receive their catalog in the mail. (Just out of curiosity, do they actually have a catalog? Has anyone ever actually bought anything from this place?)
THEN I told him that it's too bad there's no website, because I had looked for it on the internet, and that all I could find about CCA was 40+ complaints on WWW.Ripoffreport.com, referring to his company as bastards, thieves, and s****.>
Can you believe that this guy had the nerve to say that no, no, that's not THIS CCA...he said there's another CCA in Arizona, and that's the company that everyone's complaining about. (Don't bother searching under Arizona; there's no such CCA listed.) I asked him what the CCA in Arizona stood for, and he said "it's Capital Credit Alliance too...they have the same name, and we're having all sorts of problems with false accusations, because THEY are a shady ripoff company." So I told him that the reports I'd seen here had listed HIS company's exact address and phone number in Nevada, and that there were no complaints from anyone in Arizona. At this point he sounded really exasperated, and did an about face: "Well, ma'am, we do business with hundreds of thousands of people a year...you can't please everyone. Wouldn't you say that 40 complaints out of hundreds of thousands of people a year is a pretty good track record? You really shouldn't believe everything you read."
I told him that I sure as hell didn't believe him either, and then I hung up. Again, reading all your stories got me so livid that I just had to call and yank their chain. Maybe this will be my latest means of blowing off steam when I'm feeling belligerent...I'll just call up CCA, tell them that yes, it is my first call, and find out just how many different lies they have up their slimy sleeves.
Best of luck to everyone who's trying to get their money back from this sleazy place...if worse comes to worst, you might consider closing out your existing checking accounts and opening new ones, although it seems to me that if you tell your various banks what's going on, they might block CCA from accessing your accounts. In any event, thanks for the heads up about them...the mailing itself looked pretty low-rent and suspicious (nowhere on the form does it actually say what CCA stands for, and what kind of a credit or shopping company doesn't have a website?) so I probably wouldn't have activated the thing anyway, but your stories confirmed my suspicions.
