I got off work this evening, 8/16/02 and at 6:15pm got a call from Capital First. The guy, John, ID# 601, had said I had been pre-approved for a special offer MasterCard with a credit limit of $1500-$2500 with 0% interest for the life of the card all for a mere $29.95 application processing fee. He was thorough at giving me all of the information on the company, name, address, phone number(he said was 24 hour, was not), and web address (www.capitalfirst.org) and the name sounded familiar so i thought it was a legitimate company (i was mistaking it for CapitalOne, darn it!!!!).

I asked all the appropriate questions about annual fees (he said none), secured (he said no), blah, blah, blah. He told me that the application packet would come with offers i was under no obligation to accept and that if i chose to not except to respond by calling and canceling the offers within 7 days of receiving the packet. It sounded to good to be true. I have been eager to re-establish my credit for over 2 years.

He took all the financial information, bank routing and account number and then my social security number and then he said he would connect me with customer service and they would verify information record our conversation and would play a recording in which I should answer as referenced in our conversation and questions.

That's when I really started feeling funny. The recording was garbled and not clear. Immediately when I got off the phone I started to panick. I even have call security on my phone with Qwest. How did a telemarketer get through? Double d**n it!!!!!

I got online and within a few minutes I found this site. Then i really started to panick.

I immediately called my bank. Cancelled my account (which I am totally pissed about....it took me 5 years to set up the direct deposits and arrange my banking and I am losing my grandfathered account because of this SCAM!!!!) This whole escapade took an hour and a half.

This is horrible. My whole life turned upside down and I feel invaded.

Can't someone stop this SCAM. This is ridiculous. Why can't our judicial system step in a prosecute this company?

From the looks of the reports filed here on this site, many people have been bulled, ripped off, and scammed. This is a disgrace for this type of stuff to happen in America.
