On friday evening July 19th I spoke to a woman with a foreign accent I had a problem understanding who offered me a Mastercard with a $2500.00 limit along with a cellphone. All I had to pay was $29.95 shipping fee that would be debited from my checking account. If after 7 days I agreed to keep everything offered I woukd be billed an annual fee of $99.95.

They gave me a customer service # 1-866-892-6018 which is of no use they refuse to give any information. I spoke to Rick #182 on July 25th that was considerate of my questions but still couldn't tell me anything not even if I was reaching a rep for Capital First or if I really was going to receive a Mastercard with $2500 limit and what I could use it for.

I have left my name and nuber numerous times but noone calls back. I am concerned because these people have my social security number and my checking account information and I still haven't received any information in writing from them.

Close your account immediately. From all the research I have done in the last few days, I know it's what I have to do. I am lucky to belong to a small local bank with one accountant handling it all. I know it's a pain, but it's the only way to stop them.

There are three reports at Mass AG's office already. Call 617-727-2200 and ask to speak with Jennifer Galante. She did not give me permission to do this, so I don't know if it will upset her, but that's who I spoke to. You have to file a written report and you can get that at the AG's site.

Put fraud alerts on all three of the major credit reporting agencies. Two of the numbers are as follows:
Equifax: 1-800-525-6285
Transunion: 1-800-680-7289
Not sure of the other one.

But please, please file with the AG's office. Takes a few to get them going. And report the theft of your identity--password protect all your credit cards and call your mortgage company to protect any assets. Do everything you can think of, because in essence, your identity has been stolen.
