capital first ripoff Ontario
hello, i believe we may have been ripped off by this company claiming to send us a mastercard with a $2000 limit and said they would later send us a visa with a $3500 limit if we paid $199 to them out of our bank account which we did on June 21, 2002. It is now July 19, 2002 and we still received no card. when we call they say it must be held up from the 4th of july holiday. they also called us again last week to offer us the same deal... we dont know anything about the card they never sent us information or applications we dont even know how they got our name and number. we should've known it was a scam but we are still hoping maybe the card will come but then i ran it to this page and now im worried what should i do?

I put a stop payment at the bank so they couldn't
take money out...it got through anyway and they
took it out twice! $398 was taken from my bank
account. I called the bank right away and they
put the money back into my account.
You can either file a fraud affidavit at your bank
but the best thing to do would be to change your
entire bank account. That is what I did. They
will continue to take money out just using a
different name, so the best thing to do is to set
up a whole new bank account.
I changed my phone number also. Since these
people have ALL of your information..what they
will do is set up your phone number, address,
EVERYTHING and then use your phone number to call
many more people to scam them...then you are stuck
paying a phone bill that isn't even yours. May
want to change your number...make sure it is
unlisted, and only give it to the people who need
it..
