Complaint Review: Capital First

I recieved a call from someone at "capitol First" for a credit card with a credit limit of $1,500.00.

They told me, seeing I had just declared bankrupcy, I would have to pay a $59.95 processing fee and a one time $99.95 acceptence fee, and I agreeded.

they got my checking account number from me, charged me this fee, then other companies started taking money out my account.

I had to close my checking account to stop the whole mess.(I have since had to re-open it so I could get refunds from other companies)

They took the money out of my account on 6-24-02, I got a copy of my checking account from my bank on 6-25-02,so I could call and cancel,and did soon 6-26-02, so I thought.

I called severial times to cancel, only to be told that I would have to send back a "package" they mailed me, to get a refund.

I recieved the package a couple weeks later and mailed it back the next day asking for a refund, of which I still am waiting for.

I called today, 8-27-02, and was informed I had never cancelled, therefore I was not going to get any refund. But they said they did get the "package" back, but because I had waited so long to cancel, today, I was not getting the refund.

As I told them, and they admitted, I had called many times to cancel, they said that it was not canceled, but each time I called, it was placed on my file that i was wanting a "new package" or something of the sort.

I asked them why I would just keep calling to ask for a new package, and the said they did not know, but according to their records, I never cancelled.

I called a total of 3 times today, 8-27-02, and each time I was told by a differant person I still was not cancelled, even though i asked each person to cancel me.
The final person (John) said he would cancel me, but I still am not sure if he did.

All I am asking for is a refund of the $59.95 and $99.95, not all the money I was charged for NSF checks.

I would even be willing to except less just to resolve this whole mess.

Please help if you can!!!!!!
