Complaint Review: Capital Management Services

Capital Management Services is a bottem feeder collection agency who preys on those in a bad situation.

This company highly pressured me into a payment arrangement I could not afford. They told me that if I did not go ahead with this arrangement on a settlement I would owe the entire balance in full.

When I could not make the payment I cancelled the check and called to make other arrangements.

A collector called and my 10 year old daughter answered the phone. I was three doors down helping by elderly neighbor with her groceries. Anyway, the man told my 10 year old that she was giving him a hard time and "why are you being difficult" when she said she could not give out phone numbers.

He continued to pressure her for cell phone numbers and work numbers. Finally he relented and gave a call back number. He was so harsh that she was afraid to be home alone even though I was a few doors down. She said he was angry with her and she was afraid he would come to the house.

I did make a payment on the account only to be told it did not apply to the balance but it went to interest. This company stole my money!

When I complained about how my daughter was treated the man said to me on the phone, "then pay your bills and you won't get phone calls." He also said I would be getting calls daily.

I asked to have a statement sent to my house and acceptable payment arrangements. He refused to send me anything and said all business was done over the phone.

He accused me of bouncing a check when in fact I stopped payment on the check to prevent it from bouncing. He told me I was sent notification that the check bounced. I was not. He accused me of lying when I said I received no mail of that nature.

He told me I had to send him the entire balance that day by express mail. He told me if not to call my lawyer so I could go bankrupt.

He demanded to know how I spent my income.

He demanded to know what was in my bank account.

He was rude and insulting saying things like "I don't understand how you are not paying this." "Pay your bills and this won't happen." "you feel bad because you have debt you are not paying on." "explain to me how this is a problem if your husband is working, what are you doing with your money?"

When I finally said I could give him a hundred dollars he ignored it. SAid he would note the account refusal to pay. He also said the conversation was going no where and he was going to end the call.
