Capital One Bank - NA Small Business Crooks & liars...if you let them they will walk all over you Internet
I started a consulting corporation about 2 years ago. Unfortunately the local bank I picked to do my banking for my corporation did not offer a bank account with a VISA ATM card. Therefore I had to look around and decide on a credit card company with fair rates and no crazy fees. To my bad luck I settled for a small business capital one visa with a $7,000 limit. Even though I have had the business for a little over 2 years, my capital one small business card was only a few months old. The only thing I used the card for was advertising for my company and I never even exceeded $800. I always paid large amounts, because I wanted to keep my balance low as I do for other cards. About 2 months ago I made a large payment. Then for 2 months I never received a bill which was alarming. Today (2 months later) I received a threatening phone call from some Indian dude with a really heavy accent and a bad attitude telling me my account is delinquent and they will send me to a collection agency unless I pay today a minimum $108. He would not even let me say a word. Eventually I got his name and employee ID and then he started requesting me to give him my personal Bank information for the $108 payment. I told him to forget about it and I need to check my records and I will go online to make the payment and at this point he got really upset because he gave me his information but I did not give him mine (like they don't already have ALL my personal information). After checking my records and logging on to my Capital One account, I realized Capital One had run up my bill with late fees. When I called Capital One Customer Service and asked them what had happened and why I did not receive any bills in the mail the past two months, they said that I had enabled the no-paper option. The rep even told me the date and time I did this, which is a complete lie, because I was not even in the country. I never did this as I am old school and like to receive actual paper bills, to file and keep detailed records of everything for my own sanity as well as end of year tax preparation purposes. Finally as they would not waive the late fees, which they put there and I am positive someone there enabled the no-paper option, don't ask me why, I paid off the account and closed it. Do not use Capital One Small Business as your business credit card, they are liars and crooks. Not only did they change my account bill status without notifying me, but they waited and kept charging late fees on my account. They charged almost $100 worth of fees in 2 months. If I had the time and money to sue them and run them down in court, I would. But they are experts at what they do, therefore I am not surprised. Maybe Obama should consider putting down such crook credit cards companies, because now they see to have come up with new ways to rip people off and run up their credit card bills.
