This company is a rip off (They claim to help restore your credit....but dealing with them you are worst off than before). My balance started out as $900.00 they tack on fees and late charges and claims that they have writted off $2,400.00, and I still owe $2,550.00 as of this date. I offered them last year $950.00 on 2,100.00 that they stated I owe and they refused the $950.00 and are still tacking on fees and late charges...at this rate how do they expect us to ever get them paid. I am at my wits end with trying to deal with them....they will not except your telephone call, when calling them you have to leave your name and telephone number on a voice mail box with no return calls....and fees and charges are still being tack on...what can you do?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I have a similar situation with Capital One, in fact my ripoff report is about the second one from the top.

Anyway, I have been getting some info from others who have been trying to help me with this incompetent company. I've been doing some reading in my consumer's guide law book, the book says to report this type of matter to the Federal Trade Commission at:

Federal Trade Commission
Bureau of Consumer Protection
6th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20580

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act prohibits abusive, deceptive, and unfair practices.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act sets up a procedure for correcting mistakes on your credit record. The Act also requires that the record be kept confidential.

The Fair Credit Billing Act sets up a procedure for promptly correcting errors on accounts. It also prevents damage to your credit rating while you are settling a dispute.

Let me know if this helps you. If you need more info I can try to help you as I'm learning how to beat this company myself.

You may also want to contact a credit counselor.
There are about 500 offices in 48 states. To find one near you, check local phone directory or you can call toll-free 800-388-2227.

If last comes to last then get a lawyer.

Hope everything works out!

I have been trying to settle with the both of them since last year. They have voice mail boxes and when I call you leave a message and they never return your call, you can never get anyone on the telephone to actually speak with and when you do, they do not want to settle the account. They want you to sign up for another credit card offer.

"To re-establish your credit"...I feel something need to done about these companies. With them tacking on all these fees and late charges on cards that you have not paid in over 5 or 6 years is really crazy. If you could not pay $900.00, and when the fees and charges turn $900.00 into $1,700.00, you will not be able to pay that either.

Please Help!!!!!
