Capital One and I have been having problems for years now. It started when I moved from Glendale to Long Beach. I changed my address and for some reason they never put it in. After a few MONTHS of arguing the erased the fees and finally changed my address.

I thought that was all behind me, but then they switched me over to paperless billing and never sent me a bill. I had never asked to be switched, but they took it upon themselves to do so. Since they had screwed it up, yet again, I tried to create an online account. When doing so I found that my card already had an account and I never created it. Since there were no weird charges I just used the mysterious account because they wouldn't let me change it.

Then the real problems began to occur in november. I moved to the beach and they didn't change my address yet again. My paperless billing was not reaching me, so I had to wait for them to call me to make a payment. Every-time they called I told them to change my address, but that never happened.

Around march I left town to go on tour. Before leaving town I called them and changed all my information because I had someone taking care of all of my finances while I was away. I was assured it was changed and they were sorry for any inconvenience. Wouldn't you know that the only people that didn't change my information was capitol one. When the person I left in charge of my finances (Who I told capitol one was allowed to speak on my behalf) called to try to fix this problem they said there was nothing that they could do.

Upon returning from tour I found that capitol one had sent me to collections and then to a recovery department. They destroyed my credit over the incompetence of their customer service department. Is it that hard to enter information into a computer and press enter?

When I contacted them these are the responses I got.

12-17-09 A woman named Coty said they would return my call in 1-3 buisness day - I got no response. She did change my address, but to the Beach house I hadn't lived at in over 6 months.

12-23-09A woman named Mia (ID # KZB931) transferred me to Alliance one after she told me she was going to send me to her manager

12-23-09 A man named Daniel (ID # QMT894) Told me there was nothing he could do, so he transferred me to his boss David

12-23-09 A man named David (ID # MPF586) Told me to pay the fee and I would be reimbursed. I asked to speak to his boss and I was hung up on.

12-23-09 I then called back and spoke with Ryan (BYW406) who said he was the big boss. His exact words were "There is no one here higher than me. I wonder if he's heard of Richard Fairbanks? He said that since it was sent to recoveries that there was nothing he could do. He said to talk to them and pay the amount and then call capitol one back and I would be reimbursed.

My problem isn't the fact that I'm 750 dollars in debt on a 150 dollar original balance. The problem is that I'm paying for their mistake. That my credit is ruined because they made a mistake. That I'm going to have to study and sleep in my car because I can't get an apartment.

I would understand if I were a deadbeat, but I work 2-3 jobs, I go to school full time, and I still manage to be on the deans list at my college. Does anyone have any suggestions because its getting cold outside.

Sincerely,
Chris
