Capital One Insufficient fraud protection; discourteous and unprofessional customer service; unscrupulous business tactics McLean Virginia
In simple words (and you can contact me for more):
Capital One allowed a known-to-be-felonious vendor to charge false amounts to my credit card. This vendor is still authorized by Capital One, despite my and many others' complaints, and despite substantial Internet documentation about this vendor
Capital One refused my claim to refund the illegal charge
Though I tried my very best to be pleasant and optimistic, Capital One's customer service representatives were consistently rude; unprepared to answer questions, route my calls, or even to understand the situation; and unprofessional--the only credit card company which I can say that about, and I have been using credit cards for over 20 years with only pleasant incidents. One representative actually hung up on me
While trying to sort this matter out, I deactivated my account--no new charges were allowed on it. Though it was deactivated, and though Capital One sent me a letter confirming this deactivation, A NEW FRAUDULENT CHARGE WAS PUT THROUGH ON MY ACCOUNT. It took several phone calls and several hours of my time over a period of days to get this charge reversed
I am considering legal action, but for now, I am reporting Capital One here, and with the Federal Reserve Board. Please feel free to contact me if you desire more information, and best of luck to you
